I think sales job is the most difficult job to fill. Many companies worldwide continue to search for experienced sales professionals to help generate revenue because, you can have the best products and services in the world, but it won't make a bit of difference if you don't have the sales staff to move them. There is a huge demand for sales professionals in India but people don't prefer this job because the salary paid is very less and more over it is a time consuming job. The main reason is that there is a false opinion about the sales professionals among the public. So many feel that they need to lose their self respect in sales job. |

I agree to the fact of sales being the toughest to fill up..Looking into all the aspects, it won't be erroneous to say that it is the only job where you have to dirty your hands, walk up the hill and down the well, still the negotiations and targets may not be met. Graduates apprehend the idea and post-grads do not want to take up sales but something that comes easily-instant gratification is always welcomed. Sometimes inspite of high incentives and other offerings, people are unwilling for the sales post.
I also agree with you. There is a huge sortage in the sales job and mainly at the managerial level. Sales in an infinite job with no correct desination. There is no system required to be followed as per other department. But its have a different flavour. Nos. of people get bored of doing the monotonus desk job. Sales have diffrenent flavous like one week at Hyderabad, next week at Mumbai, then next week to Pune, then Kolkatta etc. There is the taste of negotiation, client mind sensing etc.
If one win the sales profile, there is nothing more difficult or tough thing in life.......

Interesting idea contest Sawant. I agree with your opinion and like to add something, nowadays companies are looking to replace more than half of their engineers over the next eight years, because baby boomers are retiring. Tech professionals are in high demand these days, so competition to find the best is high. If at all we find the best talent, after some days they are moving out to other companies where they are paid high salary. So the HR's of companies are finding tough times in spotting and retaining the talent especially in the IT sector. |
