In view of the present scenario, it seems India can become only super corrupt power at the cost of public money. |

Dear Arunmozhi,
You are right, India, i.e., the Indian system not the Indian people. In fact it is only the system of a country that counts, not the people in general. In any system only a few lead to bring the country to the top or to disaster, but the country as a whole is known for that position. People of that country automatically get credit or discredit by the actions of their leaders and the bureaucracy.
Dear Suyashi,
In fact our election laws need drastic changes to weed out corruption. BUT, the irony is, who will bell the cat? "Har Shaakh pe ullu baitha hai, unjam-e-gulistaan kya hoga?".
When every thing is in the hands of the corrupt people and the civil servants feel pleasure to become touts of the corrupt politicians by adopting them as their Godfathers, instead of serving the people in true sense in a democracy, who would dare to initiate reforms to his/her disadvantage. Only Russia-like revolution can do miracles.
“Too Step may shor hai politician chor hai”. Corruption murdabad nahi chalaygi.

India has the potential to serve as a leading example of how to combine rapid economic growth with fairness towards and inclusion of those at the bottom rungs of the ladder. In a democratic system such as India's where even the poorest people exercise their political rights actively, fairness and inclusion will be even more critical for social stability than in China. As it becomes a great power, these values will likely become an enduring part ofthe country's DNA. |

I think despite the scams, we can still make a mark in the lives of many who are still struggling to make ends meet. And for that to happen, we need a few good samaritans and intellectuals who can teach a few lessons to our politicians the basics of all-round economic growth. For the past 60 years theres no denying that we have come a long way in every sphere but still need to work on our legal system that still have large remnants of the British Raj. It would be a difficult journey but not an impossible one
In my opinion, India will emerge as a third economy power in the world followed by US & China. Moreover, we may become strong in the field of Space science & technology. Possibilities are definitely there, despite the few corrupt politicians and beaucrats who would be forgotten by the people of India.
Thanks for the referral Ms.Rashmi.
It may be possible.

There seems to be no regard for public accountability. Laws and judiciary is almost not-functional. Individual safety is not guaranteed. Mafia rule with politician and goonda nexus will prevail. Poor working class will continue to fill the coffers of govt and it will be looted/siphoned off by netas/babus without any fear of prosecution. Also there is no accountability for govt funds/budgets. No hope in the near future. Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) According to the 2010 CPI, India has a score of 3.3. That indicates a comparatively high level of corruption. The least corrupt countries, according to the survey, are Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore, all with scores of 9.3. The US has a score of 7.1. Asian nations with low levels of corruption, apart from Singapore, include Hong Kong, with a score of 8.4, Japan with 7.8 and Qatar with 7.7. |

Yes, India is a conglomeration of several smaller (state, District and village panchayat level) banana republics and thus the central government is one large banana republic.

Ispite af all the drawbacks and pulling problems India is destined to become a super power not like any other. This is not something new to us. If we are going to compare the global hegmony that USA is trying but failed or like the expansionist theme like old Germany , it is utter injustice. We have strong ethical and cultural roots

India will be superpower on the basis of few black sheep we cant say that india will became super corrupt power........

Not in the near future especially when it comes to military. Talk to any serving officer you will come to know about the same sorry state of affairs in armed forces as our govt today. Full concentration on loot. Most delivery systems do not function when needed.
|
|
We have seen it all and done it all. Hopefully a new generation will emerge and take the reins of the collapsing political/administrative functions. It is going to happen certainly and steer India for a better future. I have a gut feeling that India will become a "force to reckon with" shortly.

The fear of anarchy setting in when all institutions collapse simultaneously and our netas are busy looting the country

I agree with other contributors few of corruption, exploitation, banana for they are not happy the way is going on.i agree with Rashmi's inclusive growth. With all the fissure in the system of governance, the India;s growth will be stronger, maintainable unlike China, but identical USA.So I fathom India will be super power of "AIRFOCE-1" genre.

Most of commentators are disgusted what politicians and politics is all about.Despite these debilitating and ill effects, "INDIA" is going to become AIR FORCE-1 Super Power.
Bihar in particular has shown the way where India and Indian future belong. The path to progress is not smooth curve, some spades, some come around to use the over burden on their own way towards country's development. The corruption and banana are terms well suiting to snatchers, usurpers and masquerades. The strong economy and super powers will level these geographical contours.

I think India will become world superpower. You are saying that India will be super corrupt power BUT on the basis of few corrupt politicians or peoples we cant say that,to be a superpower we have to change our attitude,we are equally responsible as we give weighted to caste ,religion ,relations.....

The way things are going in india, i doubt whether we will be a superpower. Either the country would fragment on ethnic, religious or sectarian lines or our politicians would have sold of bits and pieces to others. I am for one not at all positive that we would be anywhere near attaining superpower status without a revolution akin to the french revolution. Only if the current set of corrupt politicians irrespective of party affliations are driven out can our country even hope of attaining this status.

i agree with Revathy.

Yes, India is definitely on its way to become a superpower. But by that time we become superpower, current superpowers will have become superior powers. We are simply trailing, and not a step ahead.

I also believe that India is on the path of becoming Super Corrupt Power. With growth they are lagging behind doing anything for poor and downtrodden people.

It is the power of "GOOD & INTELLECTUAL PEOPLE" Which is running our country in-spite of so many scams and adverse positions/ situations.

India is open for exploitation by global players. Indian investors have lost Rs 5 lakh crore in just 4 days of market crash last week. Our hardearned money is looted under the neo-colonialism! Mute spectators we remain as our pockets are picked!!

As we have some super quality politicians its very difficult to say that India will grow economically.

Now we have a minister supporting hoarders/traders instead of acting to cutdown on prices. Entire country knows the villains and chors cannot be expected to act as police and law makers
|

Unfortunately when the economy gows, the corruption increases. Three years back when everyone were surprised 1000CR corruption by one govt, today's corruptions are in million cores. I don't know where are we eheading. The real people govt should think how to materialize or utilize these economic growth to improve the education system, water, basic needs. They should eliminate below poverty level. I don't see that would happen in near future. The change can't be done by a person or two, there should be a revolution. |

I agree with you Sir, But we have to remember even with these Super Corruption we are second in the Asian countries who going to be be the Dominating power for the whole world by 2050. But the only issue is that unless the INEQUALITY is properly addressed it very difficlut to reach it.
INDIA IS REACH BUT NOT INDIANS.
