Today too many options are available all around us and we see that people keep on jumping from one brand to another instead of being brand loyal! This was not so frequent some time back.. So what is that has made them do so.. ??

i think better value for money is the prime reason for leave and switch over other brand.bcz today customer wants value for his money and that too at augmented level.

Purvi I agree with you but it is being done only if the brand is not available in that case some body thinks let me try other brand because of necessity and not temtation. If satisfied the repurchase is out of temptation.

Customer satisfacttion is the key. Ofcource selling the product plays a large part. But among the major brand, customer awareness programmes are conducted by all the players. It is the branding, and other factors that sells. But no marketing & sales can prop up a bad product. In the long run, customer satisfaction is the final factor that counts when it comes to customer retention.

Customer dis-satisfaction is the key to be loyal to another brand. Now if there is a brand switch and the brand is just not upto the customer's perception then surely the brand-switch is going to be short lived. If however, its the other way round, then no doubt that is going to be the result of customer satisfaction that the new brand has created on its new brand-switchers.

Word of mouth communication and Referal

idea posted by Virag Shah Confidential
The power of word of mouth communication behind the switch brand to other brand. And word of mouth communication/ referal (by friends, colleagues, family, relative etc.) is covering all above mention things. Today scenariomost trust on word of mouth communication as well as referal. Normally we ask to our friends, relative, cooleagues etc that where is good thing (Anyproduct) available then that people will give guidance or suggest best ways. so it is like this... This is really good debate. Thanks Ms.Purvi ji for referal

when the brand is costlier we usually tend to ask our frnds about the quality, taste or feel bcoz one donot want to waste large bucks unknowingly.

Brand is best only at launch

idea posted by Ravindra Sharma Managing Consultant, CHEF-India

There is a strong perception that companies work harder fore launch of brand, alone.

Resultantly the quality is best at launch and there after starts to slip.

Change normally occurs when a brand is unable to continue provide satisfaction and value for money.

Effectiveness (Performance & Cost)

I think the performance and Cost of the other brands tends us to try them! and yes we start liking a brand from their effective presentation through advertisements.

Strong marketing of the particular product and its low price

idea posted by Anna George Web Analyst, NichePro Consulting LLC
However good the product is, it would remain unsold if they don't keep making sound in the market. For this they try out with different techniques like direct marketing, online marketing, Search Engine Optimization etc. Among these companies prefer online social media marketing as it is the cheapest way to market one's product with maximum reach. This increases the brand visibility to a very large extend. Apart from this if the price of the product is also same or less compared to its competitor product, victory is much easier then.

Poor Quality / Poor Marketing

idea posted by Anna George Web Analyst, NichePro Consulting LLC
There can be only two reasons for people to switch to other brands, either the product quality is poor or the marketing of the product is very poor. There can be no more reasons for the decline of any brand. People may say that high price is also one of the reasons for decline, but human usually have the tendency to go for branded items even if the price is very high. A fair amount of Marketing(Including strong social media marketing) can help in re-branding the product. Regards, Anna George Web Analyst Nichepro Technologies http://www.nichesuite.com

When a person climbs up the social ladder, he will switch to costlier and more popular brands. In any product, there are products at the lower end of the value chain as well as higher up

Loss of Focused Attention toward brands!

idea posted by INDRANIL BHADURI Sales Training for Impatient Entrepreneur,Sales and Non Sales People, Freelance Trainer

Purvi Ghosh ... as usual ....very well crafted question ! When any brand is NEWLY launched into the market place it tries to creat impact among us through BRAND PROMOTION(ADVERTISING/TRADE SHOW/SPECIAL GIFT COUPON etc).Sales Professionals are also very aggressive in promoting the NEW brand as there must be STRONG INCENTIVE for promoting NEW PRODUCT!After 6 months to one year company tries to focus entire strategy on another new launch.Old brand gets lost in customers mind!Is that clear so far?

When adulteration or any unwanted products found in cosumable products then consumers for that particular moment think to switch over to other brands which happened with Cadbury,Pepsi and Coca-cola some yrs ago.Earliar Bata was famous for its durability but now fading its image day by day because of poor performance.

Why hang on to something when better quality and better technology are available. Some of the old brands fail to up date the product according to the changing time and technology so people go for better ones.
