Construction sector is witnessing a huge growth in India. On the other hand the wastes produced by the them is also increasing. So the construction is facing enormous pressure to find ways to conserve and make best use of our increasingly scarce natural materials. What means and methods can be used to eliminate and reduce construction waste?

Development of Recycling Markets

idea posted by Anjali Bhatia Construction-Heavy, Sobha Developers

Recyclable materials generated by construction may be recycled into products that may or may not be building materials. Recycled content building materials are at a competitive disadvantage with regard to cost, availability, and proven performance. Cost of recycled-content building materials is one of the most significant obstacles cited by builders. So by developing recycling markets we can stimulate new product opportunities and it will help in decreasing the cost.

IMPLEMENT THE USAGE OF NON CORROSIVE MATERIALS

idea posted by VIMALAN Construction-Construction Management, PARSVNATH DEVELOPERS LTD
"Construction materials had a great impact due to corrosive in character and it is cost effective due to annual maintenance works,Especially provision of doors & windows in steel has to be avoided,so that we preferred to use UPVC material in cities and also exposure to climatic or underground pipelines has to be weather resistant"

Educational and Promotional Programs

Conducting these kind of program will help builders to know how efficiently they should use the resources and what should be done with the waste produced from the construction. Promotion on the other hand could involve marketing waste management efforts to home buyers. It will create an awareness informing the importance of waste management and the ways to adopt the best building practices.
