Meeting Objectives

idea posted by Vijay Bhaskar COO, Divami Software Private Limited

One needs to evaluate the following:

Current Skill of the person VS desired skill

Current Salary VS desired Salary

Current benefits VS desired benefits

These would give a good insight into establishing personal objectives that needs to be met. This is the most important base that needs to be set by every individual who is looking out. Once this is set, then it would be easy to search for the "target" company which will help reach the personal objectives.

Once such a company is identified, then the individual will have to do proper research in terms of the financial data, earnings forecast etc and how the current skill matches the job available, the objectives of the company, the news that the company has generated in the recent past etc.

This will give the individual a good background - starting from personal, to the goals that the target company expects so that during the interview, the individual can be very specific to the need of the company and talk in terms of how the personal objectives are also matched.

Priority of the options

idea posted by aditya sarna Assistant Development Manager, Electronic Arts

From what i feel is that the priority of these options depends on the experience of the employee.. As a fresher options like salary sould take a back seat and options like challenging work profile and promising future should be more important..

At times it isn't always the challenging enviroment one needs or the growth or any other reason , even earning money and supporting your family becomes the need of the hour ,hence priorities do change and so does life

Promising Future

idea posted by Leena Pawar Tech Architect, IT Infotech

In my opinion the main priorities one will look forward at the time of moving into a company will be a promising future and a handsome salary. A growth in the company is the main aim of every employees, when they look towards a organisation. For some people salary will be the main priority, a hike in salary will always encourage people to move into a new organisation.

Your role offered in the company basicaly define the company. So look at what the job requires of you to achieve and what exactly it is and then one can make a mental profile of your work environment.

look for future

I would suggest that a combination of promising future growth & a good salary is what you should look for. But I guess it depends on your age group a lot also as younger minds have got more risk appetite.

If need to change job is not there, then look for options

idea posted by Pradeep Pantula Sr. Software Engineer

I believe to look into options for changing job when need is not demanding.
At times (last years rescission ) even the experienced individuals faces NEED to have a job than looking for options.
Options differ for every individual's priorities. One may take risk in joining start ups rather than established. There security and other benefits lacks when compared to the established companies.

when need is not demanding, then one can check Work-Culture and Job-Profile as base things and the rest can be calculated.
Work-Culture should provide freedom to employee in all the verticals, here we can take example as Google, FaceBook or many other product companies.
