The roots of India's tech entrepreneurship boom extend back to the early 1980s, when a group of software engineers decided to form a business to provide technology services to overseas clients, based on the wide availability and low cost of India's human talent base. They called their company Infosys (INFY). It became the company that would go on to flatten the world.

Today entrepreneurship drive is happening slow and steady at the moment but are reaching at a phase where they are asking questions like what next, Entrepreneurship happened in the early 2000's only on IT servicing kind of companies, today there are more opportunities than ever to go for a startup. But in a country with 1.1 billion people, there are 1.1 billion possibilities.

So, what's next for India's tech entrepreneurs??

Mobile platform applications for development

idea posted by Veena Gupta Analyst, Blackstone Group

Being a from a company which handles investments , today there is a rapid spread and growth of mobile networks and mobile platforms for application development. Mobile networks and mobile data services are still growing at record levels in India as service providers extend coverage to rural areas and competition continues to drive down prices.

While 3G service may initially be slow to grow beyond affluent urban centers, even 2G data services provide a platform for useful consumer and business applications, including many targeted at lower-income market segments.  people are trying to position their networks as delivery platforms for independently developed applications, subsidizing a growing ecosystem of indigenous entrepreneurs who can create the kind of specialized mobile apps that can draw new customers into the mobile systems.

Match excellence in Hardware

idea posted by Ravindra Sharma Managing Consultant, CHEF-India

While India has registered ample presence in software development and use of IT. It is simply absent in hardware to any significant area. This is not limited to electronics alone, with the sole exception of some automotive components in most others we need a lot to do. Use of electronic components by itself is not limiting.

Consider Security Risks

Before advocating for more mobile applications, one should make a study of the security risks involved and also the possibility of the medium being made use of antisocial, terrorist, anti-national elements

I second MR.Saket jain here. There is no monopoly in any field if we take the global prospective.
