A sale competency model has to be prepared with measures like effective sales process, sound management system and updated automation tools. Train people with this model that will help in improving and also increasing customer retention and loyalty, sales employee turnover, higher revenue growth rates or higher profitability during a weak sales perod. |

I believe, customer is the most essential for sales process. To build a relationship with a new customer is very difficult during when there is less demand in the economy. The sales persons should be trained with new techniques and ideas to how tackle customers during such market conditions. |

It is certain that this slowdown in economy would teach a lot of lessons to lot of businesses. As a result of this, there will be changes in the way people purchase. Hence that new purchase methods to be identified and come up with a lead generation startegy post slow down. In addition to this, there could be some increase in sales after the slow down. If the sales team is not well equipped and prepared, there could be significant loss of sales due to mismanagement of opportunities. |

In my view, there should be seminars and debates which has new sales training program focused on sales strategies for a slow economy.The Sales training seminar should be a collection of the leading sales strategies used by the top sales professionals during a slow economy and it must conducted by certified sales managers. |

In a slow economy it is natural that the numbers suffer and what really takes a beating is the Sales personnels ego or composure!! The same guy who was the cynosure of all eyes now becomes the best target for 'under achieving'!! These are time for the companies to realise that what these hard workers need is a healthy dose of motivation. There are skills which can be imparted to these guys which will help them boost their mental disposition and also redeem their state of mind!! They can effectively use these techniques to keep on top of things and attend their customers regualrly to establish a relationship and keep their confidence alive. That si the most important thing... KEEPING THE FAITH AND THE CONFIDENCE!! Nice debate... |

During slow down, only the need arousal within the consumer can force him to make a purchase. Sales people shall be trained more on probing, analysis and then motivate a consumer through its own feelings to go for a product of your choice happily. Only these soft skills can help to come out of the slow down mania. |
