As you know that the right products at the right place at the right time in the right quantity, which are critical to meet market demands and capture sales, which is very important for retailers. The supply chain management system should take initiatives dependent on the  facilities like warehousing and transport and information technology, and then geographical distribution of outlets as well.   So share your views on this.

 According to me, the key to the success of a supply chain  system should have better inventory management  to satisfy the demand of the customers. So what are the other key factors for the topic.

according to me customers primary aim is the availablity ,if the prodct is available then price will be a constrain ,if the product is scarce then inventory managment is essential

I agree with S. Muralidharan, identify the major demand clusters, classify them as per the profit based ABC and set the pipeline accordingly.

Good Materials Management is very important to meet the customers demand as well as better control over working capital and other investments in order to facilitate the cost control in a effective way.Now a days no companies like to keep unnecessary or excess raw materials than the required in stocks. After having planned the production schedule for manufacturing in advance, order for purchasing raw materials is released.

Enlightening the customer about availability of products

Apart from maintaining the inventory it should be known to the customer that the material is available with him in the stock. Customer gets the satisfaction only when he finds that the material wanted by bim is available. For that 1.stores people should tell the customer about the material. 2. Catalogue should be updated and made available. 3. For a group of customers a hub should be created wherein the supply can be fast. 4.End customer/wholesaler or retailer should be convinced to give order in advance or his forecast for immediate future. It requires little effort and time for the supplier to spend.
