HR professionals have long recognised their role in determining policies. He is responsible for upholding the values and ethical standards of an organisation. They are more equipped to live up to the ethical demands of their jobs, allowing them to be role models to others. HR’s duty to educate and make senior management aware about the certain practices in an organisation. |

While they should be responsible for maintaining policies and values, they should also have a overall culture and ethics - this is what i want the organization to be kind of definition - put inplace by the board.
There should also be a governance board that scrutinises the over all activities and ensures that these are in keeping with the corporate's mission and vission.
To be ethical and to be value based are very fundamental values. They are like salt in food....they must inform each and every activity. Mere statement does not make it so. An organization is ethical because its policies, values as put in place by the top management and as implemented by its employees are ethical and value based. Only HR has the cross functional reach to ensure that it happens.
Organization frames the organization culture, ethics & policy to design, develop & maintain the organization with the support of employees. And here HR team plays major role to achieve the desired target of organization by make themselves bridge between employees & employers. HR team should maintain the decoram, & create such infrastructure & systeam where these ethical practice will nourish & developed. For that the HR policy of the organization & HR team should be very strong in implementation part. Most off the organization have strong policy but when it comes to implementation part, it fails, if it happens it spread wrong message among the employees. So we should carefull what we are designing & most important how we can implement, there should one road map for that.
Agreed to Diya, It is very importrant to lead by examples and become a role model for all. Should be heavily involved in building HR Team who will help the leading HR to implement and execute the plan and strategies. The role should include in formoulizing practises which will elad to better and timely result thus supporting to functioning of the organization. As per my view HR and corporate leaders should be very good in GAP Analysis so that the organization growth is there.

HR professionals should be in regular touch with all level employees to understand their difficulty on ethical issues. They should also ensure that as a part of the induction of a new joinee proper brief about the Company’s ethical policies. They are responsible for providing training and when required, enforcing disciplinary procedures to not only protect the organisation but also provide a good place to work. Great idea contest Diya... |

It is true that in big organizations HR policies and Brand value of Corporate together impact the ethical nature of a company. But normally an employee do not work for company. They work for Boss. And it is ethical nature and values of immediate superior which impacts MOST to an employee.
HR policies are nothing but the written document thru' Corporate guidelines only.
In addition HR should live the role of bridging employees thoughts, their feedback to Corporate.

Ethics is
about behavior. it is about doing the right thing. Creating and sustaining an
ethical workplace culture. HR in co-ordination with the senior manager how
would explore values, actions, and behavioral standards to help steer
organizational behavior. Values drive behavior and exert influence over our
attitudes which in turn, influences behavior and forms a culture demonstrating
how to respond to people and situations. values are a therefore, key component
of effective managerial leadership. Without this value, one may tend toward
self-absorption. Leaders predominately motivated by self-interest and powerful
me attitude often strict effectiveness of an organization. |

be it HR or Corporate leaders who represent as team leaders should lead from the front when it comes to following the protocols .perhaps ,they should keep reminding(i.e,every decision should be taken keeping in sycn with common motto ) the employees about the underlying motto of organisation ,and drive all the efforts towards achievement of common goal .for instance ,google have"don't be evil " as there motto and they follow it religiously and they emerged as most sort after employers.such an organisational set up takes ,lots sacrifice of most individual interest. |

People can say anything on their own wall (facebook). they can tweet whatever they want and they can comment whatever they like. They call it freedom of expression. Do you believe in such freedom of expression. Do you think posting wrong things... |
It is hard to find right talent in yourself and one needs to jump form one field to another to know what are you good at and where can you stay. |
When emotions get involved the decision can become partial. Though it depends on what kind of decision is to be taken. We can never say that involving emotion would be good or bad. It will all depend on the outcome. |
