This is the most common question by many of the students on the platform and also else where like what students should do if they don't get placed in campus recruitments?

And hence I am highlighting this question with the recent news which is about hirning spree in India. With recession gone, hiring is on a upswing and as per latest news results nearly 1 lakh people will be recruited this year in the IT field alone and also even other sectors like manufacturing and Pharma & Biotech even they are also on a hiring spree this year with so much recruitment happening this year still we see many students complaining that there is no opportunity or they are not getting a job as there are no campus recuritments in their college.

And many of them feel bad when their friends get a job in a campus recruitment and others don't just because there were no campus recruitments, its not like everybody will get a seat in a college where campus recruitment happens. So people, what students should do if they don't get placed in campus recruitments? please share your views on this.

keep trying & Be patient

idea posted by Dayanand Deshpande Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young

That's all I have to say to anybody, I mean when we were studying there were nothing such as campus recruitments, and during our time we visited each company and approached many consultants before getting that first job, and from then on its an easier route compared to the beginning, and believe me hardwork pays, and many of the experienced guys will tell you the same thing, its ok if one is lacking in the knowledge part but attitude of yours is what gets you the best out in life, so relax keep your chin high and go for that interview wherever it is, it also has to do with the impatience that the youth show these days, just because they didn't get placed in campus placements they think everything is over for them, but that's not the case look at the brighter side of it, you were lucky that you didn't get placed that time, now you can go search of the dream job that you really want to do, so be positive, keep trying and be patient, you'll see that things will eventually fall in place.

dear all students,u all have to keep patients and work upon your interview skills instead of crying on it........u have to polish your all skills watever u have and build a very strong feeling and strong attitude and always have a positive attitiude towards yourself.........let other's say watever ,have confident to fight with this world.because u have to create your own identity in life or workplace or were ever u go ,easily getting the things is nt always possible unless nt putting an more effort on it,guys and girls cheer up...........and make yourself strong enough............

What i believe is one has to be patient as i am. i am yet not placed and have many of my friends got recruited. some of them had made there own ways by taking up whatever job that came across there way. I still not demoralised , though it takes a lot of effort to fight back your failure but consistent hard work will definately. All i prefer is i emphasis more on my weaker areas. so all we need to do is just try n try untill we get the right path.

In college conducted campus recruitment every student doesnt select so that the student should not feel they may not get into good job........ every thing is in student hand..and by managing the things according to situation and students should make some best strategies like  concentrating on higher level education with that  improving their skill communication and with many specialization (side courses which are helpful in what field they want to get into) the day will come that they may be proved  best employee to an organisation  ......

Start on their Own

I know this might sound weird, but I would suggest students.. atleast some of them who CAN and WANT TO .. to go ahead, take this as a chance Life provided you with, and START ON YOUR OWN.

Yeah.. right now, there are so many things one can do without needing any investment. See what interests you and go ahead and start earning money for yourself... till you find someone who can employ you.

If possible, for a team, as, as a team, you can achieve more than what you can do alone. And being part of a team give you a sense of belonging... and who knows... you can really make it big and might be in a position to provide employment for others.

We need more people who can create jobs. There are millions out there who are looking for some. So, if you can provide a job for yourself... you have a great start for your career...

Just my personal thoughts...

Innovate and search for your true self

idea posted by Shaikh Mohd. Laeeq Technical Associate R&D , ThinkLABS Technosloutions Pvt. Ltd.

I'll make it short and simple !! revise your basics and search for some problems in this world

I would say to the engineering grads , there are lots of great Open  source projects in almost every sphere of technology .For instance for image processing go for OpenCV ,multi-processing /parallel computing Hadoop computing model , OPenMP etc ... Learn  them , contribute , fix some bugs and then you are up and running for the company of your choice .PS do not go for silly MBA's degree's

For others , honestly there is so much happening all around and i believe the web is the best platform to learn and showcase .For media persons , get in touch with blogs , start writing articles ,increase and influence your audience etc.. and this perhaps applies to all .

Search for your true ambition in life and give it wings !

Identifing the pitfalls

idea posted by karthik QA&QC-Lead, HCL

If the students are not able to get placed in campus recruitment. I would say is

1.Identifying thier mistakes

2.Assessing themselves say for eg: Is this area sounds interesting to me? if not what are the other areas?

3.Take faculties help for good recommendation letter

4. Apply for an internship directly into a company's website

5. Go to companies...explain wht can u bring up with the fresh knowledge that u have gained from university

cheers,

Karthik

You are right Karthik. As it is a competitive world and selection is for limited seats, it is usual that one may miss. Never mind, analyze your self and if possible go for higher studies in a better Institute.

Try On ur Own.

There r so many avenues like consiltants, noukri.com etc, advertisement in papers, referrals.

In todays recession period profits have come down as such companies look for immediate return on the investments by them. As such candidates should look at aquiring experience. One or two years experience can help people in good jobsand reasonably good compensation.

idea posted by Ajjay upadhyaya Marketing Manager, ISFC

It would be always be good to get placed through campus itself because through that only he will be able to get right start in his career.Usually company gives more weight to person who get placed through campus when he get second time god  opportunity .Although it has been been observed that which is true also that there are many such candidate are their which does not get opportunity to get placed through campus and get job on their own and keep try to get growth  in their life ,but as told aforesaid campus help candidate to project him self to the  world easily in other world companies recognize these candidate soon. But in case if any person does not get this opportunity or if  does not get company or position on his interest ,in this case he should keep patient and try hard to get opportunity on their own but he must start doing jod vis-a-vis on his interested company.

Try to attend as many interviews as possible

idea posted by Ravi IT PMO, Cricket Communications

Try to grab every opportunity that is presented to you. Don't be overly selective about Role, Nature of Work, Pay (Salary) etc., The more number of interviews you attend chances are that you will crack one soon. Its very important to sell your self to the interviewer. Because the interviewer does't know you personally, he will not be in a position to assess you correctly unless you tell him about your strengths, achievements etc., Show him that you are passionate about what you want to achieve. Sense of humor, possitive attitude is very important. One last thing never plead or request interviewer.
