What went wrong with the Indian team in T20 world cup

The lack of winning spirit and overconfidence of dominance over the shorter format of 20-20 cricket had resulted in a shameless defeat of the Indian team in T-20 world cup. Their fatigue was clearly seen through their lazy and casual attitude on the field as if they are playing some domestic tournament, and  one of the best fielding sides in cricket were not able to catch hold of the ball on the field, and talking about their batting where all the power of our great batsmen gone because just before 15 days form this tournament in IPL all were able to perform well for their High Paying Bosses.

It was clearly seen from their body language in this tournament that they were simply playing for the sake of playing with no intentions of defending the championship.

I think continous cricket did them in, as they were playing non-stop cricket for last 1 year where they did not have any rest at all, and the rest period before T20 world cup was used by IPL and there players got injured and carried those niggles for the T20 world cup, so the main factor was fatigue that did them in this time around, and now BCCI is saying players should have opted out from the IPL if they were too tired and all, so clearly there is a communication gap between the players and the BCCI, so BCCI should make sure that players are rested well before any tournament of world cup calibre to give their best shot at it......Hope they learnt their lesson this time and will be better prepared for the next time...

BCCI has been treating the Cricketers as Horses who are only meant to fed ( Money) without any rest.

These players have been playing continously for past 7 months with only a break of 20 days in highly pressurised situations. Not only that they have been leaving out of suitcases.

Given this scenario anyone is bound to breakdown both physically which is exactly what has happened with a few op notch players and rest are just mentally tired.

It also a case of burnout , so the blame for India loosing in T20 lies fairly and squarely on the Cricket board planning and scheduling of the matches.

One question I want to ask one and all are we spectators not mentally fatigued watching so much of cricket then how can we expect our players to be not feeling the same? 

As is common in India , merit does not always guarantee success. Inspite of the IPL being held before the World T20 , the form of players participating in the IPL was not correctly assessed by the selectors ; Yuvraj Singh , despite his poor showing in the IPL was selected for the World T20. A few others , despite their injuries were also selected.

Quite a few players who did well in the IPL , were not selected for the World T20.

The selectors should bear part of the blame for the Indian team's poor showing in the World T20.
