In the future, ads will be engineered in a way to obtain information of its audience by themselves, with the mined data immediately fueling message customization. Consumer data is a valuable commodity that will influence businesses and their initiatives even more than the present.

Point of purchase advertisement, Online advertisement and word of mouth advetisement

idea posted by Mukul Bhartiya Head-Sales & Marketing(Organic Food Business), Arvind Ltd.

Future of advertisement will be of point of purchase and online advertisement as it offers the scope of personalization, cost of impression and it's impact on sales can be tracked down and it will lead to word of mouth publicity. With so many social networking sites in picture, consumers have now started looking for fellow consumers endorsement of the product, where cost of the product on the higher side like white goods. In this case, social networking sites will play a crucial role as well.

Now a days trends are like sellers are using contemporary thems for advertisement.I think most interesting topic for people are themselves. So i guess advt. should be such which will reflect others thinking.

the above options barring one with billboarsd with artificial intelligence are already in use , so no question of future trends happening for them . i would say that rather instead of product & service , an idea / a cause / a concept would be advertised & marketed

Billboards with artificial intelligence

idea posted by James Masih Product/Brand Manager, FedEx

I think that very soon the billboards which we see across the roads will take a change. A billboard located at the street corner will be watching us. A camera which is embedded in the billboard and the computer connected to it will analyzes the people who pass by it. It tells the advertiser how many people walked in front of the screen, turned to face the ad and how long they looked at it. It will read our gender with an accuracy of 85%, so men and women will each see different ads.

This is really a great idea...but here comes some legal issues too, for which we have to look at the books of law.

Any marketer is always interested to know whether the audience is looking at the message which communicate the products to the audience or not. This is in close resemblance with the ads which are broadcasted on TV.I guess this is a brilliant idea to have CCTV installed on the billboards so that one can get the responses from the audience and to determine the success of the ad and to take future actions.

that is a ground breaking idea. i love it, dont mind but im going to steal t for my pitches. Infact the govt. should have a tie up of some kind with the corporates as this will fund security cum monitoring at the same time. There could be multiple functions to it if you come to think. That is a great idea.

Social networking sites and online advertising.

idea posted by Meena Deshmukh Product/Brand Manager, Videocon Inds

These could gain more attention in an internet centric world. With varied races, ages and genders getting more pasted to internet, advertising on these means could grab a high reach yeilding greater results.

Social networking sites is one of the tools used by marketer who wants to practice viral marketing. This will help in creating the awareness of the products and value offerings among the users. But for the success of this stratgy, it is very importannt to have a very good value proposition else this tool will fallback and may create a bad mouth of publicity in the netwrok

Personlised

idea posted by Ranjeet Rony Sanyal Marketing Manager, Group Product Manager

I think that in future, advertising will be more personlised. It will return to its old school of thought that humour connects to Indians accross all SEC segments. We have to forget all the Marketing Kitsch like positioning, segmentation, blah-blah ideated by western authors and blindly followed by Indian Managers.

I will slightly disagree with the idea that indian managers blindly follow the conceots of STP and 4Ps. It is very well known all over the world about the indian intellectual in all the fields. The marketing concepts are important to all the marketing managers and with the experience they have learned about the concepts more. Even in era of internet marketing, the concepts does hold true. May it be any business, customers do hold key for the success of the business and marketing lay emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Reality Show advertising by using products.

idea posted by Saurabh Dey Creative Director, Forte Design Solutions Pvt.Ltd

Well, we all know that the percentage of people  who ssimly love creativity and intellegence put in campaigns ut arent willing to trust a brand on the basis of that, are increasing. As we see the popularity and increase in numbers of reality shows, I think usage of a product in unedited footage will become the future. Likethe bikes in Roadies or a possibility could be shoes and gear in "Survivor". Or using Gibson guitars in MTV Rock On, or throwing of a lenovo on the floor because someone was angry in Big Boss or Big Brother.  If you get my point, then you'd understand that Im not talking of vanilla advertising or banner sponsorship in these shows but actual usage of the products in such shows, whether naturally or . This could help the customer realise the usability of a product.

Thank You

I totally agree with Saurabh's idea, which is also practically very futuristic but practically implementable irrespective of Company's budget/tgt audience, etc. I only beg to differ on his idea of reality shows are that maybe-maybe the product may loose out on the hulla bulla of reality shows.

Often in my Brand Management career of close to 15 years, the brand sometimes gets lost in the crowd of celebrity endorsement. We should not forget that even in Reality Shows the participants start behaving as celebrities on their own right even though it is very momentory.

But still i feel that this idea of Saurabh can be tested, and a quick dipstick can be done to ascertain the real impact.

I am a novice in this group, where I feel members are day dreaming, i mean to say that when u call future ideas, it not only has to be prudent but practically(Cost Benefit Analysis)possible. I would appreciate if real time marketing managers put their ideas.

Products and its likely customers will decide the approach to advertising. It will differ from country to country. The possible media FM, TV, Billboards, Internet, SMS, Trials, Feedbacks, Interactive response gathering, promos, newspapers, referral rewarding systems, cross-selling etc. Anyone settling for one or two methods will not be reaching all potential buyers. Further the method chosen will be in line with the company's policy "skim to cream" or reach the bottom of the pyramid (CK Prahalad).

There is much more options in future to explore new & creative Trends in Advertising

idea posted by Gurmeet singh azad Guest Relations Executive/Manager, ICICI Bank

In My point of view There is a sea to explore new Idea's to change the trends of traditional advertising.

Because it is the time where every thing change. In short time of span everything going fast because of globalization, electronic media, Internet & Mouth Publicity.

I thing Internet is doing crucial role to make trends to sale & buy things without any hassle.Because this is the only medium where any buddy can connect easily to any part of world.

2nd I think all the commercial places where the people reach everyday like pubs, beer bars, eating places, cafes, cinemas ext ext. These are the places where we need to explore new trends to actract the people to sale the things.

3rd all kind of things Which is used by a mob will utilized for advertising whether it is social networking sites either services used by public like mobile phones, spaces behind the motor vehicles, all kinds of bills, Tickets, on the body of metro trains, Buses, privet vehicles ext. ext.

Advergaming - can it be an effective tool to advertise?

idea posted by Sachin Jadhav MBA/PGDM student, Bharathidasan Institure of management, Trichy

Hi all,

Advergaming is one of the tools which a marketer can use to advertise the products and brands. Advergaming includes advertising the products and brands through online games or games which can be played using CD-ROMs. The marketer gives the links on their website to attract people to play the games . There are quite a few examples like Pepsi, McDonald which have successfully used this tool and have reaped the benifits by the way of increase in sales in US and other foreign countries. This was the big hit united States. The marketer in India can also use this tool and what is the probability that this will be effective in Indian context?

A powerful medium in the way of CATV channels-pure Cable channels offer a focussed medium for a better pread and easy recall.Cable Regional as per TAM has been scoring fairly high in all Languages in India. The challenges are credibility with multi point MSOs,Local interface -CATV walla etc  bu is most effective when it comes to Cost/eyeball.An integrated approach with main stream presence supported by high frequency Cable effort can reduce the AV activity cost very reasonable.Large MSOs with strong  regional presence are the best bet while sourcing

MASS DISPLAYS AT RESIDENTIALS FOR FMCG

idea posted by mannijai PR & Media Assistance , EVENTZ FACTORY

The future of advertising would be based on products usage and promotion sector wise

In the residential colonies TV attracts a wide attention and hence a live wire promotion (on air , on a TV channel) could work wonders since domesticated women relate with the glamour concept.

Interacting with a celebrity  and a live telecast in select cable stations could enhance the situation

The future will be mobility.. imagine running screen savers(for which data is not charged from the advertiser, and small scrollings in 3 G plan to reduce your data charges..

May be some one may come with something else like allowing to make free calls except that you may be compelled to hear the advertisement (call get paused in between! )
