Before coming to this stage of project , Regular project monitoring should be adopted ,however even if such stage came, we should again analyse the factors discussed with team leaders and find the solutions to combat it with taking the sponcer in confidence and approval. action from very first day is essential |

For a Project, delay is not something that is detected after it occurs. It is instead foreseen if the Project has a schedule control mechanism in place. If the delay is unpreventable, there is no option other than accepting it. Now the question is what to do if delay occurs. Do a rescheduling of the job and identify the causes that have led to the delay and take appropriate proactive measures to prevent it from happening in the future. Correspondingly have a detail record of deviations, its reasons, corrective actions taken etc which will be of help in the process of future course of execution.

Upto the level the project has been done, I shall take apart the remaining part as a fresh Project and plan afresh to complete the same. Meanwhile, I shall inform all the stake holders of the delay and take fresh mandate from them to start afresh. |

What I will do is, I will find out how late are we by getting in touch with all the team leaders and find out what they have done and delivered till date and compare those with the planned one. |

You need to identify the type, quantity and complexity of the work remaining and identify the amount of time it will take to complete it, in order to know how behind is the project.

If project delay, calcullating the delays and then have a plan for recovery with in the project time. if it is attainable.. if its not, then think about reducing the delays as possible, by allocating extra resources in the project. |

1. Try to find out what's the major reason? 2. If the problem relating to some sanction problem try to adopt the policy of Railways "stop the late train and allow the other trains to go as per the schedule" 3. If the problem is Money, try to find out other sources like announcing new projects or other fund raising means. 4. Do not frustrate and do not take measures like salary cutting, reducing the number of employees all of a sudden etc, that will make a insecurity feeling among all staff members about the company and that may collapse the whole system.

I will find out the root cause for this delay because if we know the root cause, we can know how to fix those....
As per my experience the delay is due to unexpected change request from the client. |

I will do what MR.Suman and Mr.Trivedi have done first and later will inform about it to the sponsor. I will tell them we may be late, the reason why we could be late and what caused it. I will also let them know what I have done to fix the problem. |
