We see many people complaining that their jobs are getting monotonous, and they are doing the same thing daily, there is no change what so ever in terms of what they are doing. It has become routine and people are getting comfortable in what they are doing, and productivity is getting low due to this. What would make a professional love his/her job more??

Ask for Feedback Frequently

idea posted by Dipika Das Associate/Sr. Associate -(NonTechnical), ABC Consultants Private Limited

Employees today really dont bother to ask for feedbacks which is really important they just go on with their daily chores and in an abrupt manner they will be doing their job, if one asks for a regular feedback from their peers at the workplace then they will come to know where they stand and on what is that they really should improve on.

Have you ever made statements such as, "My boss never gives me any feedback, so I never know how I'm doing." Face it, you really know exactly how you're doing. Especially if you feel positively about your performance, you just want to hear him acknowledge you. If you're not positive about your work, think about improving and making a sincere contribution. Then, ask your boss for feedback. Tell him you'd really like to hear his assessment of your work. Talk to your customers, too; if you're serving them well, their feedback is affirming. You are responsible for your own development. This would make a professional love his/her job??

In order to avoid the monotony,Job rotation after a specific period can be helpfull. The job rotaion can be intra department or inter unit . Job satisfation can be increased by implementing a proper performance management system & following it religiously.

Close Communication with the team or boss/ Motivation (Salary and Incentives/ Reward on Work) on Time

idea posted by Satya Prakash Choudhary BD & Sales, AlphaBricks Technologies

The following things make the job more loveable:

1. Close and Transparent communication with the team or boss.

2. Long Term Motivation - In terms of Salary and Incentives on Time and Reward for work (Monetary or Non monetary)

3. Roles and Responsibilities If "can do more" attitude - Assigning more tasks as per the capability of meeting and exceeding the expectation.

Job Rotation

idea posted by Chetan Pancholi Project Engineer, Tamboli Castings limited
We are seeing that many people becomes bore after doing a same work every day. As per my thinking Job Rotation is the best idea for this problem. Suppose one operator is working on same machine then after 1 month or can be at after 6 months he should given an another machine to work so he can know some thing, and it will helpful for that particular organization and also for his career. We will work with more enthusiasm. he will be able to motivate himself. If we are talking about employees then they should also be transferred in different department of the same organization after 3 to 4 years so that he can know the working methodology and also can gain experience of all department. so one day he will able to be a General Manager him self and will beneficial to that particular organization. Thanks,

I support this idea. Motivation and rewards are not for regular work. Hence for distinguished excellence in results will be awarded. But to love the job it must be always change change and change. Rotation of jobs, or at least responsibility can yield better results.

Understanding our career Goal

We all choose our career. So unless we analyse and update regularly where we standing in our path to achieve our career goal, we will lose interets and start making comaprison with other jobs / proffessions , which we ought to have doenat the start. With passing time we have can ealily see our relative position in our journey. When we call ourself professional, there must not be a question of losing interest in our profession. The maximim we can do is to refine our goal and when we are sure the present path is monotonous we can branch it to a relative field where our experince and qualification will easily suit

An ideal environment would help the professional to not only love their job but also to excel in it. An environment where equal opportunity is given, where hardwork is rewarded, where there are ample opportunities to enhance self knowledge, an environment where mutual trust and respect rules the roost... but does such an environment exist in todays corporate world ? Forget the yahoo's or google's, i am referring to the average human being.

Being Unique And Positive Approach

idea posted by A Reddy Sathish Senior Recriter, Yahoo

It all differs with individual..as long as you love your profession you will enjoy what ever you do and I feel you can easily overcome routine things say" it becomes routine if you do something in a same and routine way and if you do the same in a different way and unique way you will not feel it routine(even a small result can be achieved in many ways eg think "4" as a result there are different ways to achieve it 2+2 and 2 x 2 and 8/2 and there are infinite ways to get 4 as a result and apply it  to your work) and other thing is going through the steps in hirerachy and if its not happening may be you can seek your managers to add more responsibilities to your current job and last but not least self motivation and positive approach and always work smart  will be also good solution and also we need to have self evaluation to see where we really stand

Working like a Dog !!

idea posted by Suryanarayan Murthy Asst Vice President (Corporate Finance), A Hydro Power Project
Working like a dog sounds like a tiresome, serious, and joyless affair, without a hint of laughter, fun, or play. However, before you ever use the phrase "work like a dog" again, take a moment to think about how your own dog actually spends his days. In actuality, your dog has a pretty good life, and it would be your lucky day if you could work like your dog! Everything is new, everything is exciting, everything is fun to your dog. Dogs are great role models for us to emulate on the job. They approach their lives not only with dedication, loyalty, discipline, sensitivity, and love, but also with joy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to see their work as play. I would highly recommend that you spend a few hours this week in the company of a dog, The first thing you will notice that the dog is constantly living in the present moment. Everything is of interest to her: the sights, the smells, the slightest movement in the world around her. Nothing seems boring, and every interaction with another being brings its own excitement. Anything that can bring her pleasure will bring her pleasure, including the pleasure of your company. Notice how good you feel around her--- how you are immediately filled with joy, tenderness, concentrated focus, laughter and excitement. Notice how she makes you smile, over and over again. That is exactly how other people can feel in your presence, as well, once you learn to go out there and work like your dog!

A professional feels motivated when he is given adequate autonomy in decision making at the same time should be accountable for the actions taken by him. Job Profile should be designed as such that there is proper blend of targets , creativity , autonomy . Work life balance should not be eschewed. I feel this is the basic thing that would make a professional love his / her job more
