The Tier II and Tier III cities in India have tremendous potential for firms in the Outsourcing, IT Offshoring, Retail and Real Estate Development sectors. Big names from IT and retail have drawn up plans to set up shop in these Tier II and Tier III cities. But they will also face significant challenges as these Tier II and Tier III cities gear up for some serious action.

So, which 2nd tier cities will become the next Mumbai??

Hyderabad

idea posted by Anjaneyula Reddy Construction-Heavy, DLF

THE SOFTWARE industry in Andhra Pradesh is not extending to other two tier cities, though the government claimed it is committed to it. Every software company, which is coming to the state is showing interest in establishing their campuses or units in Hyderabad only, because good infrastructure facilities are available here.

The first and the foremost drawback of the other cities like Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada the fact that these cities do not have international airports. Visakhapatnam is said to be one of the fastest growing cities of the country. But in software sector, it has not registered any growth. Though one or two companies like satyam and wipro have opened their campuses by the initiatives of government, no other significant improvement in the situation is seen.

1st of all I am thankful to my friend Anjaneyulu Reddy for a little and kind information of development in Hyderabad, and I too agree.

I too think Hyderabd is the next Mumbai as it has all symptoms except Cinema Industry

By this idea I am not against any cities. But since I am familier with all metros and stayed in Mumbai for a long period, I feel no other Indian cities can become like Mumbai. Thanks Anjana for initiating...

I agree Manoj that Metros are Metros.. & There will be no comparison between cities. All are having their own identity.... Nobody can copy the nature, culture, atmosphere, language, area, people, types of Industries, traditions, Govt policies ans many more.........

I AGREE TO MR. MANOJ THAT MUMBAI IS MUMBAI NO OTHER CITY CAN EVEN GO CLOSER TO IT

The question is which 2 tier cities?

Bangalore or Hyderabad are not 2 tier cities.

And no city should try to become like another city. City should develop in such a way to create her own identity.

Hyderabad should strive to become better Hyderabad, in place of becoming next Mumbai

FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS SIMPLE FOUNDATION WITH COLUMNS(PILLARS), BEAMS, IS QUITE ADEQUATE.

ONLY THING U HAVE TO ENSURE IS THE AVAILABILITY OF HARD SOIL STRATA.

IF HARD STRATA IS AVAILABLE AT REASONABLE DEPTH, THE COLUMN FOOTINGS WILL B NORMAL SIZE, SAY 1 TO 1.5 M SQURE SIZE

IF THE SOIL IS LOOSE, THE SIZE OF THE FOOTING GETS INCREASED BY ABOUT 50%.

None of the city develop as Mumbai

It is obvious fact none of the two or three tier city would be as Mumbai but some cities like Nagpur, Raipur, Bhuvneshawar and other fast developing cities across India  can be developed, this would provide employment to locals and give them opportunity to live quality life in cheaper rates as compared to tier one cities.
