Java and .Net

idea posted by Renne Sharma HR Analyst, ABC Consulting

In my view, Java and .Net will be in hot demand in the job market in 2010. There are primarily two career paths that these pros can take: one towards Web development and the other to enterprise-class applications. With application development on both fronts, Web and enterprise level, buzzing with opportunities, the IT pros with core expertise in these areas can expect to remain in demand. With a natural progression towards Web-based applications, it is essential for a developer to add skillsets for Web technologies to his core expertise. With Web 2.0 front brewing with activity, a developer can also build skills on technologies like Sliverlight, AJAX, WPF etc.

JAVA. There are many organizations looking for quality JAVA resources in different levels and they don't get them that easily from our market. In-depth knowledge is required, not like knowing the basics.

Open source integration

idea posted by Martynas Sklizmantas Systems engineer, eBuddy

It is already seen a demand for open source solutions and integration skills due to their cheap first costs and realization that you cannot have long term IT strategy (as it changes too fast).

open source professionals will be in high demand especially for the embedded and middleware side .Linux expertise and RTOS based embedded professionals will certainly be in high demand. Also many open source projects have attained suffecient maturity ,for instance O3D,(low level graphics API ), OpenCV,( OPen computer visio library ) etc.. all these are the factors why i believe OPEN will be in demand (and has always been tough :)

Add your argument:

Java, .Net and Open source like Ruby on Rails

idea posted by Vivek Johari Analyst, Magic Software Pvt. Ltd

I think companies will go to .Net for its Silverlight , WCF  MOSS like features since in Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft has given Silverlight many more features. Java is ever green technology. For Web, now many companies started moving towards open source technologies like Ruby on Rails for their cost cutting.

Yes java, .net and open sources will be tagged as preferences.

Add your argument:

Java,.Net,Php

idea posted by DIMPLE KANTHARIA B.E. [Computer]

As per my opinion Java,.Net and Php are in hot demand technologies in the job market. Java is platform independent so it is in more demand. Php and .Net are used for web applications. Php is having its own language so it is more preferable for the web applications.

idea posted by Arun Tanwar Software Engineer, NCR Corporation India Pvt Ltd

Why I say this is because JSF is much improved tha JSP with rich UI interface. It supports rapid development.

UML is a benchmark and this is the very cause that companies have started asking aspirants about UML specially after gaining an experience of 4 years or above. UML looks a less attractive topic at first thought but I can bet that it is the foundation for any software design. It's like representing your software with diagrams.

I don't understand why people go on supporting .Net, SAP etc without any explaination on the same. I can go on adding the list of technologies but it needs to be justified!! :) :)

mash-ups

idea posted by Munish C Project Manager, Web & Interactive Solutions company

it will depend on the company's profile but Open source platforms (since its easy and less expensive to integrate), Cloud Computing (for server side) and Mobile (both Advertising and Application development). Social media itself is becoming a prominent area where more SMEs will pool in.

RIA(AJAX, GWT, Flex), JAVA, .NET F#, Dynamic languages

idea posted by Arun K. R. Consultant, Expicient Inc

now Java is in the position of C++ and .NET being the best competitor with F# (I'm speaking in a job perspective).

I'm in favour of Dynamic languages(especially python)

They are claiming more and more favour in recent years, because of speed advantage over statically typed languages in being narrowed and advantage of agile development.

This is the era of web applications, so AJAX plays an important role (so does Flex).

GWT is a best kid in the block.

These technologies seems to have a bright future

.Net is a runtime framework that supports multiple languages, Visual Basic and C# (the .Net language most similar to Java) among them..Net has a more integrated development environment, as the IDE, runtime and server all come from Microsoft as a standard package, while Java is based on third-party tool and server providers. It used to be the case that the .Net development environment was clearly superior, but the difference is smaller these days.

why because, right now network is very valuable to the satellite communication. with out network communication we cant live. for instance, we have to call to the ambulance, police, etc., for an incident happened into near to our place. that time communication failed we cant be solve the problem or help our neighbors or we cant intimate to others.

so, satellite communication through remote sensing mode is very important in our real life.

With release of Tiger Version Jdk 1.5, the new Concurrentcy utilities introduced is catching up fast in the market. The very reason is the increasing load of users on internet requiring optimized programming on the server. The new concepts introduced like thread pools and optimized locking is simply SUPERB!!!

SEO, technical writers

Scope of SEO "SEO is one of the prime area to start your career, but not all can be happy doing this...” meaning if you can hold your patience for a year or two your CTC will likely to zoom past 6 lakhs INR per anum. I just give you one real time example to get my point: A developer will get a site once to develop and 2-3 times more to redevelop it but an SEO get site once and then it will be forever because even after getting a 1st rank, you have to maintain that ranking and for that, you will need an SEO. So the SEO field has much more scope then a developer.as i feel so
