Encourage them to work in under-developed regions and rural areas

idea posted by Greeshma Reddy Regional Marketing Manager, eInflexion Pte Ltd

Foremost thing that we can do is to encourage them to work on rural areas to develop the regions and to expand our market space to those regions.

BY ENCOURAGING THEM TO WORK IN RURAL AND UNDER DEVELOPED AREAS THE LOP SIDED DEVELOPMENT IN URBAN AND SEMI URBAN AREAS WILL BE NARROWED DOWN.THEY WILL GAIN EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE TO WORK IN AN AREA WITH MINIMUM COMFORTS AND WILL HAVE A SATISFACTION OF BEING INSTRUMENTAL IN DEVELOPING UNDER DEVELOPED AREAS.

Thanks for the referral Ms.Greeshma Reddy.

I agree with your opinion and also with Mr.Sanjoy Bose. This attempt will have advantages for both the under-developed/rural areas and the unemployed youth. It will be a earning for the unemployed and the service to the society which means helping each other.

Now days whatever taught in colleges are not relevant to future carrier. The students must be trained as professional with well equipped skills and talent to lead their life without expecting jobs from others. They should learn how to lead others by giving employment opportunities. One way they become the entrepreneur and other way creating job opportunities.

Market concept of Development  is not the only solution.West people has done lot of damage to the world just because every activity they take at the back end is the motive of expansion of market whole world for them is  comodity.

To my mind when we go to village our interest should not only be to find out or to develop them just to get our business, that will not be appropriate. Then again we will turn another village to another town or city.

We have to find life cycle within villages being one of their village member.Even in our remote villages the people staying there may not talk our languages or may not be knowing our ehics and practises but their age old traditional life also have their inner strength for best survival of life.

We have to respect them ,we have to learn about what is their basic need, what conventional method they follow for the life struggle. We may land up to finding out another Vana Ramayan wher we are to learn again our own culture of "Athithi Devo Bhava" among them.We may find another Shabari waiting for us to greet in her hermitage .

As per our ideas and thoughts wher we equate our development  with standard of living wher our minimum standard is  a car  a building  electricity etc, which is a far cry for them and even after our life long efforts also this can not be achieved.

So before plunging in such kind of development plan we should really need to study about those village development plan which have been proven results.Naming some such projects I could say Nanaji Deshmukh jis project at Chitarkut for rural development could be a model for that.

Requirement of More Schemes For Self Employment

idea posted by Vipin Bhasin Private Equity/Hedge Fund/VC-Manager, Indian Investment Co.

I agree with only Mr. Mathew's idea that Govt are very much anticipated in opening new universities and institutes in India rather than plan for future problem of unemployment or under employment among graduates.

Some are talking here about higher education. Again i am asking a question that how much vacant seat available in India for high qualified students which would be filled by those freshers. The major problem is less job creation system in India not the education system if we are talking about home jobs(in India).

I think new plans/ideas will be generated by Govt to encourage the self employment system. Although there are provisions in India related to self employment schemes but they are not innovative in the area. There are many experts, experienced people in India, Govt can take suggestions from them for new innovative & best ideas related to self employment.....

Vipin, it is not just more and better schemes, but also the education quality itself. We mistakenly impart literacy and call it education. We as a nation are suspicious of people who work from home or make a living from non traditional resources. Yes we need to encourage self reliance in todays world in our youth. The future is not what it used to be.

Reform the higher education system

idea posted by Greeshma Reddy Regional Marketing Manager, eInflexion Pte Ltd

We have to improvise our Higher Education System to have tie up with corporate world and take through all the cycles of the industry. Has to give higher education more in companies and workshops rather than classroom training.

I would say that entire education system need to be revamped and reformed. In a developing country, the aim of education should be quickly make the young generation in the general mass employable than trying to make everyone graduate.

Country will need millions of tradesmen in various fields. The HR policy also need to change. Every job shall be filled with candidates with just adequately commensurate qualification, and not the overqualified. There shall be decent minimum wages for every job and there shall be parity between the pay and perks of tradesmen and graduates; and there shall be parity in the enviroment and working conditions of workmen and the white collars.

encourage part time jobs

idea posted by Jaya Ray Manager, KyaZoonga.com

Employment dynamics must be changed to accomodate graduates:

More part time jobs

More contractual jobs

Equal distribution of jobs of all kinds

Involvement of both Govt as well as private sector in the initiative.

Announce employment package in cooperation with corporate houses

The Government of India must find a solution to solve the ever increasing unemployment problem in University Graduates. The only possibel way appears that corporate houses muat cooperate with the Government in tackling this problem. The scheme should be so designed that these graduates can effectively be utilized.

Proper Administration by the Government and Shift Employment to Rural Areas by Developments

idea posted by Sanjeev Bhandarkar Regional Commercial Manager, Bharti Teletech Limited
Both measures are equally important ... today we have ample scope for development in rural areas, we can find best candidature too there than of urban candidature. Willingness of the Government and then proper roadmap will definately help to reduce the unemployment ... this is where we Indian are lacking.

The freshers need to be tough and to accept challenges..,so to equip them we should send them to the allied or defence services so that they can respect their country and also understand the hardships of life.

revamp education system.

idea posted by parwati singari Lifestyle coach., Indepenent practise

the entire education system should be revamped, we need to get vocation oriented, education instead of giving people a degree and keeping them unemployed. we are not trained to thinke enterprisingly, so instead of creating a cheap labor force for the anglomarket, we are creating them for the american market, and we call them engineers, IT guys or managers.

I agree. We not only have to revamp the "higher education" system but education per se in this country. Please remember that our education system was instituted about 100+ years ago to provide a constant supply of "clerical staff" to the east india company. Do we still want to keep on producing administrative staff only? We as a cultural habit do not encourage enterprise thinking. even if we decide that the sole purpose of education( aka literacy) is to grow up and get a decent job, please atleast train our youth with the skills required to survive and prosper in the corporate world.

Function of the government

idea posted by Mathew Cherian Research Associate/Analyst, Western Michigan University

To generate employment is one of the functions of the government. They have to make sure that investment process in the economy is growing at a determined pace to accomodate the new graduates coming out of colleges every year. Policies that enhance investments and job creation should be their look out as Rational Agents or representatives of the citizen.

Agreed. But why at all we need so many 'GRADUATES'?  In a developing country looking for development in farming and agro and other large scale industries and alround infrstructure, we need people who can be employed in these areas. The type and output of the educational institutions shall be such that to generate enough hands according to the right need and proportion.

Government should facilitate and provide 10th standard plus 2years and 3 years tradesmen training free of cost in every village and small towns in the country.  Considering these, the HRD ministry's idea of scrapping public exam in 10th Std exam etc. are totally skewed.

Along with graduation course teach them such skills that can help them take manufacturing or set up their own business. Such training can be more of rural or agro based skills so that we can develop more job opportunities in rural areas.Government should also give them concessions like tax benefits, soft loans etc.
