Why am I saying this? It is because this is my perception. so many countries play chess and being the Master at this game universally is an achievement. |

Vishwanath Anand is the correc choice inspite of he always prefer to remain low profile. I support your idea, Himanshu & thanks for referral.
Sure. Vishwanathan Anand is all that a true champion should be.
The only endorsement he does is NIIT's movement for encouraging children to take up chess.
He has shone in all the formats - standard , rapid , blindfold.
His behaviour on and off the chess board has been exemplary.
Absolutely,Vishy's the true World Champ,no doubt about it

Sachin is the indian symbol foe honest sportsman
I go with Sachin Tedulkar.

Sports is not all about achievements. The main purpose of having sports is to instill a number of good qualities in the person playing it and also in the people watching it. For the sportsperson, it improves Discipline, Team Camaraderie, and above all Health. For the audience, it showcases the limits to which human body can exert itself, unity among countries and sense of pride and loyalty towards one's country/team. |

Yes, the best choice, if cricket is considered as world game. I support for Kapil Dev.
|
|
Chess is a world game ; cricket is not. Does countries like USA,China,Japan,Germany,Russia,France has a cricket team ? Worlds largest economies do not have a national cricket team. Hence World Cup is not a 'World Cup' in reality. I personally like Geet Sethi.Six times world champion and a IIM Ahamdabad graduate. |

There are so many sports, each one has its specialist. In Chess Bobby fisher created waves, In tennis John Mcenroe, Bjorn Borg, Martina Navartilova created waves, In Cricket India produced the spin quartet, stylish batsmen like M L Jaisimha and so on.

Being a true Indian at heart, I will always go with the national game of our country Hockey. When it comes to hockey it is always Mohammad Shahid, mainly due to his magical stick work considering his dribbling and footwork with the stick and the ball, He was one amongst the well known and established hockey player in late 70s and 80s till 90s, He was always considered as danger man whenever India played Australia in all the major world level and olympic championship. Highly skill with tremendous pace, magical ability with the stick and ball when it comes to dribbling was member of the gold medal winning team at moscow olympic. Always my favourite.

"An inspiring and awesome youngman" Baichung Bhutia is undoubtedly the famous Indian footballer in recent times. Born on December 15, 1976 in the remote Tinkitam village of Sikkim, Baichung’s story is one of sheer grit and determination against all odds. At a young age, he won a SAI Scholarship to attend the Tashi Namgyal Academy in Gangtok and played for several school and local clubs in Sikkim. His performance in the 1992 Subroto Cup did wonders to his career. In 1993, he joined Kolkata’s East Bengal Club and the rest, as they say, is history. In 1995, he moved to JCT Mills, Phagwara, which won the India National Football League that year. Bhutia emerged as the top scorer in that league. He was named "1996 Indian Player of the Year". In 1999, he went to England and played for Bury F.C. In 2002 he returned to India and after that has played for clubs like Mohun Bagan AC and East Bengal. He played for Perak FC, a Malaysian club, from August to October, 2003. He was with Mohun Bagan AC.He has won many awards and accolades in his football career. He was the best player of the 1992 Subroto Cup, the youngest goal scorer for India in 1995, best player of the Calcutta Super Division 1995, the top scorer of the Calcutta Super Division 1995, top scorer of the first National Football League 1996-97, best player of the first National Football League, voted "Asian Player of the month" for the months of May 1999 and October 2002 and was the top scorer of the first Asean Club Championship 2003 in Indonesia. |
