Thanks Manish for the referal. Krishna is the real role model. He had all the qualities of a best person one can have. He performed all the acts but at the same time was not involved in it. Though it is very difficult to make one understand about the qualities that he had. But one can try. Think about him and you will also conclude that he was that real role model in the today's world.
Krishna is i think the most versatile character in ancient days. Peoples are not able to understand the krishna till now. One day will be when krishna will be for all. The definition he gave for Dharma and The things that he taught i think he is the most versatile teacher in the universe.
LORD KRISHNA - He is a "Giver". He gave to people. He gave help to one and all. Even when the enemies of Pandavs asked him not to actively fight the war, he promised he wouldn't and he dint. He was only a Charioteer. He gave yards and yards of Saree to Draupadhi. He epitomizes the Giver.
Whereas Rama is a "Taker" - He took help from everyone to further proceed in his own cause. He took the help of Lakshmana, Hanuman, Sugreeva, Vanaras, etc., etc. So if you go to Rama and pray, he may take something from you too.
So, it is better to "BE" a Rama (TAKER) in this world and pray to Lord Krishna THE GIVER - and surely you would be given everything you want. The great LORD VENKATESWARA and LORD KRISHNA are the same - Givers. The greatest GIVER. Giver of everything material and spiritual too - including enlightenment.
But remember and understand this - After TAKING you have to GIVE. It is always the cycle of TAKE and GIVE and TAKE and GIVE and TAKE and GIVE ..... and so on. Why? - Because only if you have something you can give. So take first and then give.
After the Rama Avatar where Rama was the Taker, Lord Vishnu took the avatar of Krishna where he was the Giver.
And BTW - my parents are not from the EPICS. They are from the real world.

I would say that my parents and family,my grandfather most inspired me as I was growing up. He was a man who had gone through many struggles with his health from a relatively young age and continued to have a positive outlook on life.

Parents are God to us but people they are not CHARACTERS FROM TRADITIONAL EPICS!! They are real .. Sorry but I could not stop myself from saying this.
I support your idea, Manishkumar, as these characters are playing a great role in everybody's life. Thanks for referral.
Krishna is a nice character-can learn a lot from his stories.. Dhanveer Karan - Sorry but i dnt have an idea abt him. for me father and mother is the inspiration.
sri krishna in today's world there is modern day mahabharat everywhere within the country and between countries there are no permanent enemies. indian politics is the proof of that it is like a big boss game friends and foes keep changing there are so many kauravas today there is need of a krishna to help to pandavas of today's world krishna like chanakya neeti .krishna who motivated arjuna to win.who made strategies to win the war.and bring stability

Hanuman was one of my favourite characters in Indian mythology without any blemish whatsoever, unlike Ram or Krishna who did some actions which may seem contradictory or against ideals looking at from today's viewpoint.

Hanuman Ji really, he is the crisis manager and as per the hindu mythology he is still present among us. I would also like to add that though Parents are superior to anything else but i believe they are not a character from the traditional epics so comparing them here would not be proper.

Being a professional astrologer, my favourite character is lord shiva, where all your concetration and power is generated, of course lord shiva symbolically represent the character of concentration so follow shiva and be a fan of bohlenath.

In Mahabharata, I like the above two characters.Lord Krishna took birth in the earth to resume or reinstate the Dharma through destroying Adharma from the war between the Pandav and Gaurav.Hence we have got a very scripture called BHAGAVAT GITA. Lord Krishna saved good people and destroyed bad elements.
Why I like Karna, he is a great warrior and nobody accepts him as Kshatriya, but treated him as a shutra & not getting the importance. But in the competition among the pandavas and the gauravas, Karna excelled in performance which was not approved by the Pandavas, Acharya Drona, and Beesmar citing the reason as Karna was not a Kshatriya who was badly treated by all and Karna was heavily wounded by all with bad treatments. At that time Dhuryodhana appreciated his talent and made him as the king of Angadhesh. The friendship between the two was very strong and Karna promised he would die for Dhuryodhana. During the war, Lord Krishna with some tactics killed everybody, but unable to kill Karna due to his Thanadharmam which becomes the protecting force for Karna. Anyhow Lord Krishna killed Karna after begged his entire Dharma from Karna in the battle field. Here the important point to be noted is that the Lord Krishna had to beg from Karna and so Karna was very great. The only mistake from Karna was that he was with Dhuryodhan side, the force for adharmam. Ultimately Lord Krishna shown his Vishvaroopa and gave Karna the heaven. Karna died for his friendship. Hence I like Karna. The morale is that good people should not be with the side of bad elements. Ultimately the Dharmam will win. Thanks for the referral Mr.Manish Kumar. |

Lord Krishna gave the world a beautiful life doctrine through Bhagavat Gita which was taught to Arjuna in the battle field. When Karna was rejected by all others except Dhruyodhana.Hence Karna was morally bound to help/fight for Dhruyodhana and he did the same and proved his creditability and the friendship till his death.
The birth secret of Karna was known only to Lord Krishna and his mother Kundhi Devi and when they asked to join with Pandavas, Karna refused and claimed that he should be with Dhruyodhana who was everything for him.Mother Kundhi got promises from Karna not to use the Nagastra second time against his brother Arjuna as advised by Lord Krishna.[ great Karna]
It should be noted here that after knowing who Karna was by his mother, Karna refused to go with Pandavas. It shows the good character of Karna who wanted to devote his entire life for Dhruyodhana who had given the recognization to Karna and he was not selfish to change sides.Hence I like the character of Karna in the Mahabharata.Every one knows the role of Lord Krishna in the epic who was the main character role [Director and Hero] in the entire episode. Without Lord Krishna the Pandavas could not have won the battle with Dhruyodhana. All praises go to Lord Krishna.

I like all of them, except may be Shakuni, Kauravas, Narada, Ravana, Karkotak etc;. Though I feel all these charecters were imaginary, like the Greek Mythologies. They are the different temporal phases of human behavior.

Sri Krishna descended on earth to show us the path of righteousness, renunciation from excesses, how conflicts arise out of avariciousness and clinging to material benefits, how to deal with women in public life, what morality and chastity are, how one should conduct himself / herself at times of crisis, respect to elders and Gurus, how ego can take one to destructive mode, what attachment is and how perilous it would be if one is hoodwinked to it, what gambling is all about, and how gambling can mire your vision from righteous path and what are the consequences to such gambling and its aftermath effect, and so on and so forth! In spite of such wonderful "Bhagwat Gita" which was, and is, and will be, relevant for all times to come for all sects of mankind, we are yet to get out of vicious circle!
