The importance shud be givenfor using thru chllin/stam/steam turbine/hot water etc......

its not compulsory as it associated wid additional Investmentt...... but beneficial looking at cost benefit analysis..........

Thanks for your response. It was my pleasure to inform you that, we are one of the company delaing with waste heat based power generation. (For example - Waste heat from Sponge iron plants)..

I suggested to one of my customer who wanted to set up a gas based power project and we advised them with combined cycle power plant, which is a costly affair comparing to simple cycle. Therefore here raises the question,

1) whether all the gas based power plants should be combined cycle or it shall also be of simple cycle? (Is it mandatory to go for WHR based generation in GTPP)

2) what would be the efficiency of the plants in both cases.

there are many ways of utilizing the waste Exhaust Heat....

1. WHR Boiler and then Turbine for additional Power Generation......

2. It can be used for Chilling but by the way of VAM Chiller....

3. It can be used for generation of Hot Water/Air/Oil as this heat of Flue gases of Exhaust can be transfered to any other media which is having less temp campared..... The system needs to be designed accordingly.....

4. It depends on industry 2 industry and application 2 application...... choice is with the end user... some of Inds use it for Boiler & turbine, some for chillers etc... As the steam generated from WHRB doesn't cost much and can be substituted with present boiler Loading.. so cost of steam goes down and Power therefore... It Increases the overall Efficiency of the System.... You may find WHRB & turbine combination only in specific Inds such as Cement, Steel etc... while rest of Sugars, Papers, Textiles, Pharmaceutical dont prefer putting up additional Turbine on WHRB as they need lot of Steam for process application& Generation with Low Pressure increases the Quantity thereby This is how they can reduce the Solid Fuel Fired Boiler loading and cost of Steam as a whole .....
