The effect of western culture has changed Indian youth a lot.  The effect of Western culture in Indian youth can be seen in most of the actives as dressing, food habits, the way of moving with others and even western dance has gained its popularity among Indian youth. why do you think foreign brands are very much influencing indian youth in particular?

Facination for the word "IMPORTED"

idea posted by Makrand Bhave Marketing & MICE, WIZCRAFT International

we have always been fascinated for anything IMPORTED!!

The foreign brands strategy is simple. They have already scored the first base with fascination and now they are flooring them with the touch of the desi flavor that Indian youth like. The Fiat linea has the typical whistle blow to woo the buyer!! SONY Ericsson has the appeal of being a SONY and also the intrigue of Music!

Parker using the Big B as their endorser, along with Cadbury's. Its all there.. They have studied the Indian market and researched it thoroughly...

I'd agree with Markand with this fascination for imported things. But such fascination is not limited to us Indians. It is quite a common phenomenon in other countries too. There was a time when an Indian returning from a foreign visit was expected to bring in foreign-brand cigarettes, alcohol, perfumes and the like. But no longer. As we realize now these things are commonplace in India now. Yet that colonial hang-up sustains. Foreign brands are also more aggressively pushed into the markets making a greater impact on susceptible youth.

Youth Interests'

idea posted by Sudhansu Jena Logistics Manager, Target

Yes we all know that Western Culture is affecting Indian Youth, but most of them are interested to know about the latest trends and latest brands of clothes and cars released in to the western market. Youth are interested in fun, entertainment and likes to enjoy the easy ways of life which the foreign brands are aware of. But no one is interested to develop the same concept and Technology in India.

Hot spot for brands

idea posted by Dayanand Deshpande Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young

The Youth generation are the hot spot for foreign marketers as they know the youth are brand concious. The majority of the India's population in consuming class consists of youth which are living intepedently and the pattern of living has been changed. The foreign brand marketers know youth are brand addicted and they don't think lot before buying even for credit.

Youth gets addicted easily

idea posted by James Masih Product/Brand Manager, FedEx

I think Youth are the latest trend lovers and they get addicted to these foreign trends easily.  It is absolutely right that the foreign culture has been affecting youth lives in a great way. Especially the youth have taken a special liking to the culture. They finds themselves comfortable when they use foreign brands.

It has always attracted we Indians !

idea posted by ujjval jain Retail, Retail

Any one can look back in time, we Indians always had a flair for imported goods, from confectionery to clothing, from electronics to cars.

One can take a cue from our cinema, where 'vilayaati' brands from wines to cars always showcased.

The thing is now that, these brands are here in India & the youth is having more disposable income & awareness due to media etc.

Western Life Style

We love western life style and this is the reason why they target India as a blue ocean for their product and for marketing their products as well. This is one of the reason and many influential factors are involved behind this and the way they advertise their products on TV targets directly youths..Ex Axe
