We don't have skilled technicians in India, people who go abroad to learn technologies don't return back to India because they don't get support from the government to implement their projects. So government should encourage people coming with good projects for sky scrapers..... |

dear madam , i dont think that there is lack of technicians in india to implement a skyscraper but the real concern is about the economy, and if there also the technic to do the work is not here in india, at ths time india cant afford also.
Dear Anjaneyula, you are right that India lacks skilled technicians, but what if government is able to bring those skilled professionals back to India? what would be the other supporting factors.
As you are from the real background i.e. construction i am expecting alot from you in this regard...

India is the developing country for around 30 years people are not willing to see it as developed country

i feel we have been slow in adopting this idea, once it starts it will pick up very fast and we may have the Tallest skyscraper of the world in near future, as we don't lack in money and top level tecnical personal for the same.
I will agree,but we will wait for another 2 decades i.e)developed india will surely comeback with skyscrapers

due to poor economic condition only the skyscraper are not in india , the builder also will think before he makes that who is going to buy,i think skyscraper r not the real problem but is about good infrastructure , health problems and education , we have concentrate on these other than skyscrapers.
Chandra, a good one and I feel economy is one of the reason behind it.

Actually we have all the necessary things like technology, manpower, structural engineers, etc., but still out government only didnt take or allow to do this kind of projects in certain cities, but already hyderabad govt allows to do this kind of projects, so first somebody intiate to do this, then only everybody follow the same.

As India has big land bank& also population was scattered ,so in India high rises building concept was not in force, but now a days some city has dense population& due scarcity of land ,high rises building concept is implemented.
Our govt. cannot allow to do this megaprojects, restricts under rule of FSI and many other rules like height restrictions, zones but we need to inspiration from government to develope high rise skyscrappers in India.

'groundwork' is required, ain't it?
Roads, electricity supply, sewerage & drainage,
& perhaps, most importantly, a water source to cater to the hundreds of offices & homes that would populate a comparatively small piece of land ... are our 'cities' equipped?

The economic criteria is the governing factor in decision making regarding the cost of construction. If land is very expensive or virtually not available, high rise buildings need to be constructed out of necessity. There cannot be any other rational in such matters.

The human scale is more important and skyscrapers dehumanize life and architecture. You don`t need to participate in a meaningless race to be the bigest, the strongest or the tallest. |

Wherever, FSI restrictions has been removed,projects has been launched with ambition of World tallest building..Examples are - Recent auction in MUMBAI, land procured by Lodha Group and willing to build more then 160 Floors,same in NOIDA and other cities.
