Next year new destination for job seekers would be in India. India has pulled ahead of China with a whopping 42 percent net hiring outlook for the first quarter of 2011. China follows close behind at 40 percent, a 2 percent decrease from last quarter. Taiwan comes in third, with a net employment outlook of 37 percent.

So, why India is the new destination for job seekers in 2011?

Due to high consumerism

idea posted by Kiran Kumar Reddy Business Analyst, SAP

I think it has got to do with high consumerism in India at the moment and many co's worldwide are setting up their office here and also their R&D centers as they know that today emerging nations is where the business is hence we can see India, china, taiwan and countries like Brazil and Turkey are the nations where there is lot of job opportunities, because India has reall good domestic market and high consumerism thats why India has become the new destination for job seekers across the world..

Due to a big consumer market, increased employment opportunities are becoming available. Hence, more members are gravitating to India. Thanks for the referral, Kiran....

Yes you are correct Mr.Kiran Kumar. The size of domestic market is getting larger for various types of products which creates larger customer base thus in turn generating employment opportunities.

Apart from the High Consumerism, India today represents the 50% of the world's youth population. This population is a mix of Educated & Talented people who are ready to work at comparatively cheaper prices from other Nations.

In India, we have a huge Talent Pool which requires minimum training to be skillful enough for taking up the desired tasks..On the Economic front,, Human resource is cheap here in comparison to Europe & US with reference to relative Talent Level..

Just because a handful of people have returned from US and other countries does not mean that India is the new destination for job seekers. Those handful have already achieved their targets - savings, position in life, assets, etc. And the other group - they see investment opportunities and have come home to setup shop - very, very few. But look at the number of people going abroad every year - hundreds of thousands.  Why?  Because they are not able to find any job in India.

opening up of the market

In real terms india is only now opening up fully to FDI. FDI in retail and other sectors are what is boosting this according to me. Also an ageing population which is ready to be replaced by a younger lot has also got to contribute to the same
