I think this has to be the reason like effective leaders are there in workplace, the importance of leadership and managerial effectiveness to employee engagement relates proportional to organisational success. And engaged employees are those, who are more committed towards their company and put in extra effort to help their firm achieve its goals. Also companies with highest level of employee engagement and best leadership will recover from the economic downturn faster and emerge stronger... |

Darshana you belive or not but indian lifestyle, their loyal thinking,GENETIC PURITY, rich heritage of pure character & offcourse absent ism is behind this
Indians have a strong work ethic along with discipline, commitment and work focus. Hence, Indian companies may be ranked highest in employee engagement.
However, all the studies that are conducted have a sample size that is somewhat small as compared to the main population and the trends derived from the report are at a high level finding only. It is surprising that Japan ranks lowest in the study as the Japanese work ethic is as strong as the Indian work ethic and the Japanese are quite loyal to their organization which might imply better employee engagement. On the other hand, attrition is higher in the Indian work scenario, especially IT and related areas.
Since 2007, WorkTrends Report from Kenexa has been administered online, which has allowed data to be collected outside the United States. In 2010, approximately 10,000 workers in the U.S. and 1,000 individuals in each of the following countries took the survey: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and select countries in the Gulf Co-op Council (GCC), namely Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Altogether, 29,338 employees were surveyed in 2010.
The moot point is the extent upto which the report reflects the true picture of the world work force data based on a sample size that may be considered to be quite meagre as compared to the total workforce of the world, even if the sample size may have been selected based on stratified cluster samples....
Thanks for the referral, Darshana.....

It would rather look little out of context but recently I came across an article which related human behavior with their blood group.I don't know how far that is true but incidentally it matches with the results stated by Darshana. "B" constitutes maximum population of Indian subcontinent while "A" finds major population in Japan. "Passion " is the main attribute of "B" group while "A" group are good "followers". We,Indians,by virtue are passionate. It may be may be cricket or it may be food or festivals or for that matter our job. Japanese are ardent followers and hence need direction to move.Tell them to produce a particular variety of a car and they will produce millions of it without a single defect but of late they seem to be missing the direction. |

In Indian Companies, If the profile is taken up with sincere attitude then it is very clear that the project will be of success. More and more hands get together means more & more brain working together. |

Thanks,Darshana for positive insight. Once companies achieve conformity, the engagement starts. It therefore suggests that companies creating congenial work environment engage in hiring spree more vigorously. |
