During 1990-2000, we have seen revolutionary telecom changes in use of phone lines for data than voice. Similar trend is repeating in mobile communications too. Mobiles initially used for voice communication will now be used more for data traffic (though everything now is data only...). And hence the adaption is quite obvious or indeed required. And this may not only limit to particular age group, as expressed in Blackberry-Vodafone ad.

All smartphones have a strong glamour quotient associated with them. The Gen-NXT of India is very much fascinated by these and being a G-G ( Gadget Geek ) is a big style statement.

That's what delights most businesses - smartphone makers included. :D :D Or, are you asking for the reasons why Indians buy smartphones? If so, in my not-so-humble opinion: #1. Snob value - a.k.a. "I have the latest" syndrome. #2. Genuine utility value & some entertainment value - the professionals who really need one because they have to handle things in disparate sections/locations and want quality entertainment as well. #3. Only entertainment value - those who want a snazzy way of being social all the time, play movies & games, anywhere, anytime. |

If you have seen the Vodafone Zoozoo ad of 3G where everything it resembles of some Rajnikant styles and few superheroes...you would have understood how 3G technology is taking shape in India. Today there is a maximum demand for 3G usage as of... |
Have tariffs bottomed out in the telecom sector? |
Completely agree with your Mr. Paul...that India is totally becoming banana republic, media is getting news before the government organizations, everything or anything happens in this country and nobody is held accountable, and that is the sole reason... |
