mobile phones are available to people of all segment across the globe, and its reach is also increasing exponentially... that time is not far when TV will be extinct and everybody will use their mobile phones for all of their activities (like watching news, movies, internet etc.). And also, the cost of advertisement in mobile phones is lesser than TV. time spent on mobiles is also a variable in their favor.

While most of us spend a certain amount of time watching TV, listening to the radio or reading the newspaper, the mobile phone is one medium that is there with us throughout the day and night. No wonder, it is now a preferred platform for advertising by both big and small brands. Mobile is carried by the user for more than 15 hours a day, as compared to TV which has an exposure of about 2-3 hours, With mobile advertising space in western countries already booked, it’s now India’s turn to understand and utilise the medium. |

Totally agree and I would like to add is that its time of mobile applications. Customer gets updated regarding different offers on time and the go through it more faster than other media. It is economical, fast and reach target audience. It can be easy to track much number of people were targeted. People like to go through all features through mobile like paying bills, buying tickets, financial statements, alerts on mobile phone rather than visiting the offices which save lots of time. So mobile marketing is really going to hit up.

Unlike other media where your message could be seen or not, mobiles offer a solution that trancends all other traditional media. Because of its focussed reach mobiles enable the delivery of message to the desired target audience. Also the fact that mobiles have become more of a necessity today rather than a luxury helps in its focused reach. A newspaper may or may not be bought but today even the poorest has a basic mobile. This factor makes it an ideal platform for advertisers irrespective of what or who is advertising. |

As we all can see new feature are being added to the mobile phones day by day. Dependence on mobile has increased manifold in the recent past. This trend is going to continue in the future also. These are the things which are turning the heads of the marketeers. |
