With customers spending more and more time online to make a purchase or a word of mouth happening through online platforms, but Ad agencies are complaining that organizations are really reluctant to invest in Digital marketing....why is that happening people, Why people are reluctant to invest in Digital marketing?? I think Budget obstacles is one big hindrance for organizations to spend on Digital marketing as there are few people who can track it properly like how it is impacting their business by spending on Digital marketing.  Here marketers are attempting to "lead" rather than "lag" on such technology use, budget constraints are putting budgetary obstacles in their way. This in turn is hampering their ability to create, build and maintain customer relationships and increase revenue...

Besides budget obstacles, the reach to the target audience is not very well facilitated especially in case of rural segment. It is not suitable for short-term and it will take long time to give results. There is a problem between reality and perception as to what customers want and what agencies give.

I agree with Denny, the format being new the OLD SCHOOL Decision makers are not accustomed to the use of Web as a platform

There have been occasional usage of this to promote ones business. At times, this is okay if it comes under a proper head. There is a comment on Forex Trading that has come under totally unconnected heads 1. Why are organisations reluctant to invest .... 2. cultrre or religion as a way of life .... 3. when not to use a debit card... None of these main topics deal with forex. so why is it there. How can we stop it. Ofcourse, this post is also miscategorised but it is done purposely to keep it nearthe target post I'd like suggestions. Looked for a complaint or improper use icon. Could not find it.

Sir, I do not feel wrong if anybody is taking benefit of Social or Business networking sites to promote the product or service. Has toostep prevented its users from it. If you do not like it, leave it but why to unnecessarily publicly offend somebody trying to promote the business by peaceful means? I am sorry to inform you that, I feel personally that you are very much old fashioned and orthodox kind of a south Indian fellow unable to keep a pace with a modern changing world... Please think rationally and forgive me if I have hurt you somewhere...

Every one fears the unknown.

Pretty much like learning to ride a bicycle.

If you believe it will fall it will.

If you think it works the same way that you drive a car. it won't work.

So till enough success stories happen in digital marketing, it won't reach the tipping point.

Advertising not considered a powerfull tool to sell a product.  It is still considered a expensive medium to sell a product. Once advertising importance is felt then the need will rise

Use of Technology

Today rather than print we all follow the news online coz it gets updated after every hour. I am not saying that the value of newspaper has gone down but today a person who has limited time and everyone today has Blackberry and O2 it becomes easy for them to read when they are on move. Here they are paying for net so no need in spending for a paper. Clients also see this value . Online branding gives them more visibility and in certain sectors they even receive a response through mails or through SMS. I agree with you on this that Ad agencies are also pushing today a lot to their clients for Digital Marketing.

However mostly companies are investing in online marketing at present scenario. But some of them want to avoid digital marketing because they haven't much confidence in results of same.

Very Discouraging Sales Figures

I feel the reason could be very discouraging sales figures are being noticed by the corporates as compared to other means of marketing... But the trend has been changing and business houses are also trying to take a calculated risks... worth to be tried cautiously....
