Shivsena recently lauched an outright ban on burqa in India, "If the burqa is to be used to steal children, then we demand that it be banned as per law," an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana' said. The demand is in reference to a burqa-clad woman stealing a two-month-old child from a municipal hospital here recently. But even French government is fighting it out like anything for banning burqa in France, but still nothing has been materialised and it will never I guess. You are asking someone to go against their religion which will never happen.

And this is seen happening from age old days like people are very much keen on what others are doing and are pretty much interested in other people's lives than their own. Why do you think it is like that??  Share your thoughts on this...

They want others to be just like them

idea posted by Kiran Kumar Reddy Business Analyst, SAP

I think people want others to be just like them, people just don't accept change very soon, and here the ban on burqa in France is just a simple example of it...where the France government wants everybody to be same and there should be no radical differentiation among its people, also  burqa or the veil has come for strong criticism due to its involvement in Terrorist activities, but still terrorism prevails even where there is no Burqa, its something got to do with familiarity, they just want every other species on the planet just to be like them irrespective of religion or caste or their culture, It may have something got to do with the curiousness attached with others, remember people always want to know stuff which is an unknown entity...

IDLE MIND IS THE DEVIL'S WORK SHOP. SO THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND INTERFERING OR POKING THEIR NOSE IN SOMEBODY'S AFFAIRS/MATTERS.

IN CASE THEY DO THEIR WORK OR PRE-OCUPIED IN THEIR DUTIES, THEY FIND LITTLE TIME TO CONCENTRATE ON SUCH INDULGENCE.

OTHER REASONS ARE POVERTY, UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS, AND JOINING WITH BAD FRIENDSHIP & ANTI-SOCIAL ELEMENTS.

Kiran,

The society comprises of different people, caste, race and religion. Every individual has been thinking differently under the influence of his family culture derived from ancestors. Even among family members born of one parent has different thinking and attitude. There is a saying 'People are Different' and are born different. How you expect from different people with different mind to behave and act on a straight line. This is not possible.

'Why people are always interested in other people's lives' is an exclusive case of racing culture being promoted under influence of religion and racism attitude of the individual leaders of that society. I never find a person planning for disturbance. At the most when he meets another person he expresses his thought with him and both of them try to discuss the issue with third one. Ultimately they approach to a person or leader who can provide them shelter, in case, if some thing happens untoward. The exploration continues and it results into such happening which you are worried and discussing of.

Do you think that these LEADERS have guts to take decision individually? No. They can never take a decision because they are also worried about their individual image but as they are covered under the shelter of a political/ social/ criminal group they never feel fear to act against society norms and rules regardless of life of one or may be lives. It can extend upto death. Still, they never come in front and say that they have done it, they always try to hide themselves while blaming OR try to expose oppositions.

What burqa has to do with crime? Why don't you think of women of interior villages where they have Parda/ Ghunghat system. Burqa is as good as being in parda. You can never know the face behind parda or ghunghat, if they have lifted an infant. To add further, nurses in hospital look alike, aprons are available in any rural market, as well. Any body can buy a Cap and an apron to commit such crime. Is it possible for a man to recognise anyone whom he has glanced for a second? May be 1-2% yes. What about, if any one puts on a rural pagree/ Safa on head and does the same? Yes it is possible and then all these temporary attires would be blamed. How long you will blame this Fancy Dressing?

This is society. Such crimes are bound to take place and they have been happening during Lord Ram and Lord Krishna's period. Only difference is now we designate them as 'Rakshas', but they also were the criminals of those times.

Blaming each other will not serve to any solution. We will have to be cautious and keep our selves away from such deeds. If every body think we can avoid such crimes in our society.

Some people make their own living by interfering in others life

idea posted by Wajid.Pathan Enterprenuer (Designer /Developer/Supplier), Self Employed

There are some people who want to make their living by interfering in others life it gives them the required publicity & attention  whether it is politics ,an organization or even sometimes our own extended family. These kind of people are evrywhere in the world. They think of themselves as lions & tigers of the world by harassing innocent people who make their living by working hard enough to make the ends meet. When India is making such a good progress i dnt feel there is any need to create unwanted controversies to save a dying empire.

It is very common tendency of some people. They just love to interfere in others life. They give suggestions ,ideas etc. even if no one wants it.These kinds of people think that they are the most intelligent people over there. It is very clear that this issue of "burqa" is directly related to the religious belief, So its almost impossible to put a ban on burqa.we must find out some other solution for this problem ,putting ban ob burqa is not a solution.

Changes are required with changed times

idea posted by kanukurthy sudershanrao Operations Manager, Andhra Bank

To start with Islam originated in Arabia where people were nomadic, the idea of introduction of burqa was to protect the good loooking women from prying eyes and possible harm to them.  With so much development following this is out of place just like taking bath every friday as the water resources were scarce in that part of the world and people will at least clean themselves once in a week and group near the water resource for exchange of information.  There is no point in continuing this where water is available.  Change with changing times is required.

Reflecting aberations in Social / Personal life

idea posted by KALIYAMOORTHY Oil & Gas Area Coordinator, Undisclosed

Society is bound to have a societal norms. Grown ups / social reformers inculcate the people what is spoken of & to be followed. Any aberrations / abnormalities are reported & blown-out to curb it from practice. Nevertheless, if any good thing found , it is highlighted to popularize it. Thats why it is so closely observed-by others' life.

People who are not content with what they have want to know what others have and compare them with others. This is absolutely unwanted and will only complicate the situation. Most people compare them with people who are much better than them which gives them a feeling they are not as lucky as others. When they compare them with people who are lower than them then they will be very happy. There is a saying which goes like this:I was grumbling i did not have a pair of shoes until i met a man who did not have his legs.

THEY DONT HAVE ANYTHING WORTHWHILE TO DO IN THEIR LIVES

idea posted by Naushad H.L. Creative Director, MAD COMMUNICATION

There are all kinds of people in this world. Those who dont have much meaning in their Lives, are the most destructive & useless. They will do all these types of activities & live life.

Most of them 'Think' they are doing something for a cause ( they shouldnt be allowed to THINK, as Brains are acutely missing ), BUT they end up being a nuisance to Society at large.

Tolerence of all communities rituals and practices are essential

idea posted by V G Sundar Kumar Consultant, Sri Balaji Maintenance Services & Freelance Recruiter.

Organisations like Sivasena, VHP, LET are all fundamentalists who are dogmatic and believe in their own philosophies.  They are not rational, not subjected to any reasoning and tolerated by their followers blindly.  Prove me if I am wrong.  LET believes in targeting other communal forces by creating chaos.  Do they in the process eliminate only that community.  Not at all. They include people from their own community too.  We fail in our attempt to make other communities follow our dictum.  It is never possible in our country as long as we are enshrined to allow all communities to peacefully coexist.  Whether a Hindu sporting a shaved head, or a Muslim sporting a cap or the muslim ladies wearing burqa, all these religious formalities are well within law.  With the unique identification number given for identity everyone including the categories mentioned above should and must identify themselves, no matter in what attire they are present.

The more we identify with our communal inhabitants the more we try to be conservative. Let Government declare that every inter caste marriage taking place will be eligible for a monetary benefit or stop paying Income tax for a long period.  See the dramatic change in people opting for this avenue.

Benchamarking for building confidence in actions

idea posted by Joe Antony Retail Sales and Marketing, JSW Steel Limited

I guess its the natural instinct of animals to see what others are doing and to emulate the same in his own life if its confused of its next course of action .

If a person is strong by nature then he is unlikely to do this. Other than that its just a tendency to understand the personal/professional progress of fellow human being to understand whether himself/herself is in a better/worse position than the person he/she is comparing with.

Based on the outcome of the action  a person can have heartening/disheartening effect to his/her level of confidence.
