I am struggling to understand how, if Green supply chain can reduce cost there is no wide spread adoption of the same.My gut feel is that the business case doesn't stack up for green supply chain barring a few exception. Unless we make non-green supply chain expensive(green tax) we cannot make business sense of green supply chain
I do agree to shaju, green supply chain will reduce operational cost and it will also differentiate the company and its products in the market place.

competitive pressure and marketplace perceptions will drive every major company

I dont understand why people are always afraid of incorporating sustainable concepts. Acording to me incorporating sustainable concepts into any business increases profitability. Similarly implementing green methods in your supply chain will decrease cost and add the value to operations. |
