Hi, frnds....I would like bring out discussion which looks simple but not actually. The problem is not with Islam. Nobody wants to hate it. But no offence, people are afraid of the past 1400 years of Islamic history which is filled with attacks on non-muslims. Even if we leave apart the religion, still we can see the condition of minorities in every muslim majority area. Always muslims have considered religion before country. All these are enough to make anybody see a muslim in that way. Coming to Hindu extremist groups, I agree that the way they are adopting is also wrong. But if we consider the comparative study, neither the blames on any group blames has till been proven by any court nor the destructuction done by these groups are as high as Muslim groups. |

It is sad indeed people in the 21st century are still arguing on religion(s). The three major faiths Christian, Muslim and Hindu - all have very solid cores of very strong values. Even a cursory but non-biased look at those values will reveal that nowhere there is mention of violence as a means to solve problems.
Every one should try to study all the three faiths with an open mind. Search for the 'core values'. The Bible, the Holy Q'uran, The Prasthhaana Traya (Gita, Upanishads, Brahma Sutras) You will find there are no conflicts among the three. The pleasant thing is that None of these have been subject to Change down the ages!
Suffice it that any precept that yields to flippant change will be the cause of historical 'errors' that will sometimes create turbulence in society.
The sensible direction might be to go back to the basics of the Faiths with patience and respect. You will find truly positive parallels.
The permanence of these great values enshrined in the text is alone enough to drive refined people to rethink on religion at true Cosmopolitan levels.

The answer lies in the perception created by forces of politics, society and media. A Sadhvi Pragya is a terrorist, not a Hindu. Hence, an average Hindu need not speak out against her. Even the radical organisation that she belongs to can continue to sport social and nationalist labels. But the equation suddenly changes when it comes to Muslims. Any terror strike brings an entire community under severe compulsion to be seen to dissociate itself from the lunatic fringe. Madarsas or institutions and even a city that any terrorist is linked to are immediately branded nurseries of terrorism. One may argue that all sections of the society were bursting crackers when judge Tahaliyani pronounced sentence. But no congregation was identifiable as a community as Muslims were. While social and communal biases may force Muslims to wear patriotism on their sleeves, the community too is to be blamed for trying to secure certificates of patriotism. |

No religion preaches terrorism, or even hatred....however, the interpretation of the same - told in a manner that directs action to satisfy the objectives of a set few - is exactly what gives rise to terrorism.
