It reflects the interest of common Indians to other sports.
Well said Manoj and Shrikant, we Indians are now well matured to live beyond controversies and respect what needs to be respected. Indeed the opening ceremony was no less than any world class show and the whole world has acknowledged it.
Well said Shrikanth....I still not understand why Indians are always thinking negatively always...This is already a conceren and OC has promised new ticket counters and they are planning to get school children and people from lower strata on weekdays if news can be believed..
As you said tickets for big events like shuttle finals, tennis finals and most of the hockey matches of india is already sold out....
Let us hope and pray that we will see a very successful games including the closing ceremony......

I think it all has to do with the controversy and the bad publicity which it got with the media for itself...and also the officials the way they behaved..I mean how could they say they Foot over bridge which collapsed was not for athletes but for Aam aadmi...that was a nail in the coffin for them....they knew they didn't care for common man and with all the development programme happening in Delhi for CWG, people suffered a lot, and also people of Delhi had extra tax burden with this commonwealth games, and infact people made prior plans for these 2 weeks upfront...with even travel agents coming up with commonwealth package outside Delhi for those 2 weeks...so this is why we are seeing less attendance in CWG........ |

Besides controversy it is difficult to reach the venue and the amount of security checks one has to pass through. It really makes somebody to go and watch instead it is better to watch on TV.

It seems that the spectators must be through contractors and as now all CWG contractor's bills might be at stack and therefore they do not want to stake more in to same industry.

People are more conversant with mass media coverage than in actual participation. Technology offered so much. So, why not make use of it. |

No information of what is being held where, no sign board, electronic display boards etc are the reasons even people feel that its better to watch it on TV rather than wasting time & energy to watch it live.
