Workforce Motivation

its sad to say but the fact is todays workforce is binded with emotions such as pride and anxiety amns\gst every individual to lead the race

It is seen that people who are satisfied with what they are doing are more inclined towards more productive and efficient work, if you can provide the employees with more opportunities to apply their skills and help them to enrich their skills that will ultimately benefits the organisation. this is due to the fact that if the manager try to take care of the employees than the employees will take more care for the organisation. So more job satisfaction should be there along with reward, incentives and opportunities to apply their skills.

Rewards are necessary for motivating the employee. Non monetary factors such as gift coupons, Fun at work, working environment and monetary factors such asperiodical appraisals

many times, if we make employees afraid that they would lose job or salary will be cut,then this kind thing work as a very powerful motivation.

Managers should stop micro management. They should empower the team members, allow them to be creative.. give them power to limits...

and reward them

I guess we can't just pick any one to be the reason. From my personal experience while one of the factors remain dominant the others do play their part. So the leadership at various levels should take care of the factors . However particularly in IT sector what I have seen the managers play a big role in finding what motivates an individual in his team and should try and make it available.
