कैप्टन मोहन सिंह. फ़रवरी 1942 में भारतीय सेना ने
सिंगापुर के फ़रैर पार्क में जापानियों के आगे आत्म समर्पण किया. ब्रिटिश
सेना के करनल हंट ने भारतीय सैनिकों को जापानियों के हवाले कर दिया.
जापानी सेना के मेजर फ़ूजीवारा ने भारतीय सैनिकों को एशियाई भाइयों की तरह संबोधित किया और कहा कि वो लंबे समय से गोरों के अधीन जी रहे हैं. उसके बाद कैप्टन मोहन सिंह ने अपने साथियों से कहा कि वो मातृभूमि की आज़ादी के लिए एक अलग सेना बनाएँ और जापानियों का साथ दें. यहीं से आज़ाद हिंद फ़ौज की नींव पड़ी.
