The 100 per cent cutoff in Delhi University has evoked strong reaction from Union human resources development minister Kapil Sibal.  He has called it irrational.

The first cut-off for BCom (H) at the Shri Ram College of Commerce released on Tuesday reached an unbelievable 100% for the non-commerce aspirants.

Sibal said this was unfortunate but will his saying this do any good?? He was saddened as it came at a time when the government was trying to simplify and make the process of admissions easy.. IF it is so he should stand for the issue , shoundn't he??

Sibal also said such restrictive cutoffs demoralise students and their parents and should be avoided by the university. Well even if he did not say that this would remain a fact that all of us know..

The minister assured the parents and students that the anomaly would be rectified and requested the college and the Delhi University vice chancellor to look into the issue.

He questioned the wisdom of this decision as it denied admission to students who scored even as high as 99 per cent.

Criticising the SRCC move, Sibal questioned why a student who scores 99 per cent in science is not good enough to study commerce.

Responding to Kapil Sibal's appeal, Delhi University vice-chancellor said the cutoff will come down in subsequent lists.

However, the principal of SRCC PC Jain has justified the 100% cutoff for non-commerce students and said the college is following the established practice.

Well what is that practice .. We have no idea how things work here and this type of cases make it even more difficult.

You are right Mr.Muralidharan sir. Admitting only the bright students is'nt a great thing. It is the responsibility of the institution to make them bright. The institutions are just afraid of their reputation. Govt should act immediately on this issue.

Every year, universities have practice to play with students feature. Now it clearly display that they found a way to collect money from the students. Even there is a possibility to get 100% cutoff, what about the prevailed candidates. What this government going to do against these things. What can we do? The Are we ready to avoid the university?

Do parents and students have guts to boycott? Every year, this passes like an event. Government, at this point in time, can only shed crocodile tears only! If you turn away young aspirants who have dreams, we are shattering them! Think of mediocre students! Where would they go? Many would take up avocations that would harm the country in the long run! Educationists, please awake from your slumber thought! You are in the run to spoil many upcoming talents!
