Mainframes are computers used mainly by large organizations for critical applications, typically bulk data processing such as census, industry and consumer statistics, ERP, and financial transaction processing.
Obviously they are the world's largest banks of business information. Many of the applications that need to be SOA-enabled are mainframe applications.
HOW TO MAKE MAINFRAME A PART OF SOA
To make the mainframe a part of your SOA you must
service enable legacy systems. This does not necessarily mean your
mainframe needs to support web services. You can use integration
techniques to incorporate your mainframe into a distributed SOA
strategy.
There are many ways to integrate the mainframe with
distributed systems to participate in the SOA. The mainframe is an odd
creature to integrate with because legacy applications were build on
proprietary systems (like CICS) and protocols (like SNA). Open systems
and of late web services make recently developed systems more
interoperable.
THE DRIVING FACTOR
The driving factors behind the mainframe push for
SOA is the need for open integration architecture the can support
business process automation across distributed systems. This
architecture creates the foundation to optimize business processes and
the flexibility to easily change these processes.

If there was no data loss in one scene then do we have to wait for the worst to happen, I think the clear indication where my friend was trying to draw the attention was towards that there security is at stake with that kind of web-sites. |
Market is filled with CRM marketing tools due competition and innovation among marketing automation providers. With so many CRM marketing systems to choose from, it has created a confusion as to which one to choose. I want to know what factors... |
yes as such there were talks of mainframe going completely at one stage but now with Mainframe 2.0 it is sure making its comeback and i agree with the idea of pradeep......thanks |
