REALITIES OF LIFE

One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops - a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.

At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back.

Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically week? Well, he was. Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it. The next day the same thing happened - Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the next.

This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff.

By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; what's more, he felt really good about himself. So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said, "Big John doesn't pay!"

The driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, "And why not?"

With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, "Big John has a bus pass."

Management Lesson:

"Be sure there is a problem in the first place before working hard to solve one."

LOL! Isnt that a brilliant way to notice what you are missing and build it to pave way for your success! Building skills on the way to the top is so important. All round ability can really work wonders! Neat piece!

Dear Ms. Kaladeen,
I do not look in Toosteps for quite some time now. The website has become too much crowded with too many insignificant and meaningless entries.
Nevertheless, I use to have a casual look now and then about what you post.
This one is very good indeed. It reminds me of many instances and happenings during my long personal and work field exprience. Thanks for the refferal,
WBW, Paul

I did not forget to mention the link. Actually I did not even know if this humour had a real source. Anyway the source Shrimal quoted is not correct since I was not able to open it. I personally don't believe that a link is necessary for jokes/humour since most of them are from unknown authors.

Ajay, maybe the bus driver did not have the skill to think like you, so he did not go beyond seeing a bus pass. For me I would have had to examine the pass for expiry date since that is in my line of duty.
Thanks for providing the missing link.

Inder, I get your point but if the bus driver did not think there was a problem , then he would never have made time to build building skills. He achieve that skill for a purpose which he had no need to use but may be able to use it later.

Excellent Devi....great one...At times most of us jump to conclusions that something is wrong and will be trying different things...but we will forget whether there is really any problem or not to solve in the first place.....thanks for sharing this.....

Moral is never jump to conclusions and there is no harm is speaking and clarifying things if you have any doubts rather then being apprehensive!! Good one, thanks for referring!

Nice one...but after all the driver's body building gave him some confidence to ask the big guy direct in his eye...maybe it was not that bad after all because it atleast gave him an illusion of confidence.Nice and refreshing insight.
