A TRUE SACRIFICE

Swami Nigamananda Saraswati a saint of just 34 yrs., old who was fighting against illegal mining and purification of river ganges died on June 13, 2011 after 115 days of fast unto death. The Swami went into coma and had to be admitted in a very critical condition to the Jolly Grant Hospital in Dehradun on April 27, 2011.  Swami Nigamanand Saraswati was a member of Matri Sadan. It is known that Matri Sadan has been struggling to save Ganga from illegal mining for the past 12 years. Swami Nigmanand Saraswati had earlier done fast from Jan 20, 2008 till April 1, 2008 which resulted in success and Stone mining was banned, but after some months it again started and then another activist Dayanand did 30 days fast in March 2009 to shun the illegal mining. It was closed for sometime and again restarted from Oct 2009. According to Matri Sadan blog, the Himalaya Stone Crusher is destroying the bed of Holy Ganga and Kumbh area of Haridwar continuously for the last 10 years by extensive rampant mining of stone and sand. Illegal mining is running in complete co-operation with the Government of Uttarakhand and its bureaucrats.

Mr. Srinivas suravajhala actually it is not a surprising matter at all as this day the public media is for sale, unfortunately the real people like Late Swami Nigamananda didn't had money to buy the media for his legitimate, noble and authentic cause. In these days you will only hear from the rich persons but nobody thinks of a poor because of the very psychology that "being a slave to rich will open doors for one's richness and supporting a poor person means to invite troubles" we must change the system else we are heading towards more darker future.
I totally agree with you. Till I read the news of his death, I do not know that he is on fast. No coverage by print/electronic media at all. This shows the sad state of affairs of the media.
Surprisingly, both the Print and Visual media has not taken the news as seriously as it expected to, since Swami Nigamanananda not a corporate Swami as Mr. Ramdev Baba is. One more thing to mention is that the young swamy truly sacrificed his lives for a cause. He has no hidden agendas. But, he has not received any attention from the media. I surprise there were no posts in Toostep.com also. Here people are busy talking about future candidates of PM and silly politics. Its not to hurt someone or other here please.

Mr. Vinoy, my point is so clear here.  Abetting religious/caste/regional sentiments for party gains is not acceptable and asking someone to cast or not to cast in favour of/against  someone is also not acceptable.  My reference to "Fatwa" is just an...
