BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND ACTIVE DATA WAREHOUSE
The real-time business intelligence (BI) or, in other words, provide an active data warehouse, provides both historical analysis as well as active tactical look-ups.
BI today include savvier, demanding customers with a lower patience
threshold as well as faster moving business operations and tighter
regulations on maintaining historical data about the business. An
active data warehouse essentially aligns BI with operational
intelligence, creating new active intelligence
What can active data warehousing do?
An active data warehouse would be involved from the start, identifying profitable/desirable customers and would either automatically make the decision to apply or withdraw the charge.
This is not restricted to CRM but can also be used for the concept of personalized billing.
Technical Implications
Vendors such as Teradata applied it.And also the new data warehouse appliances that have appeared over the last several years are often very well adapted to this as well.
According to me advanced data warehouses would be able to cope with active data warehousing, perhaps the sort of general-purpose databases that could already cope with small data warehouse queries and OLTP against the same database -- or even appliances that can present different virtualized views into a common data store -- may find active data warehousing brings them a real opportunity.
Competitive advantages
All businesses crave competitive advantages, and active data
warehousing certainly has the potential to bring many advantages. It's
hard to imagine any business making thousands or millions of decisions
at the customer level unless it implements some form of active data
warehousing to enable this kind of operational decision-making.

Is Java still considered "the language" for speed, robustness and scalability, or are coders moving to new languages like RoR |
Well Mr, Ranjan, I do agree with you that this is the right time to enhance ones skills, You also said that "companies can utilize this time for giving trainings to their employees". But I don't agree with it...who will bare the cost in this... |
