Like the purpose of sex is primarily for procreation, but has also the psychological side, consumption of food though basically for survival of life, the activity also serve to satisfy various levels of mental and physical urge.
In fact nature has imbibed the mental urge to indulge in eating food and sexual activity so as to ensure the creations undergo the actions needed to survive and procreate. In course of time, the activities gained predominance over the purpose, and have hence became the root cause of most of the problems in the world. If bio technology can provide answers for controlling gluttony consumption of food and hyper activity in sex, much of the ills hurting the humanity will vanish.
As I had already wrote about the area of 'SEX' and how bio technology in future could be of help to rectify various problems in the area of un-natural sexual and criminal behavior of human kind, I would mention here only what I dream about how Bio technology could become the savior to eradicate poverty and starvation.
In continuation of the current research about genetically modified food items, there shall be research to invent and mass produce substances that can be substituted for most of the food items that are consumed now. These substances should not have any harmful effects to the people and animals and other creature and shall be substantially effort less and cheaper to produce. At the same time it shall fit to the taste and flavor to the palate to give psychological and mental satisfaction and shall be easy to consume quantity wise. Consumption according to the need of the person shall not alter or harm the physiological activity of various organs in the body.
Come on friends, don't laugh, after all there is no harm in dreaming. Are not such food items already in use by astronauts? Think of the savings in money and effort in doing away with vast agriculture, farming, water and energy consumption and logistics in current method of food production.
