Just yesterday, the government agreed to rhink in the matter of giving a separate statehood to Telengana, other parts of the country too shouted for their own regions. In this race, the first attempt was done by GJM leaded by Roshan Giri to declare the Darjileeng area as "Gorkhaland" with Capital Siliguri. For this, 21 young activists of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha(GJM) started indefinite fasting and processions in the district of Darjeeling.

This movement of separation was follwed by Uttarpradesh where voices rose for declaration of 3 different states namely Poorvanchal, Harit Pradesh demanded by RLD and Bundelkhand demanded by BMM. While Ajit Singh, Rashtriya Lok Dal president, has for long been an advocate for Harit Pradesh comprising 20 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh, the Bundelkhand Mukti Morcha (BMM) has been spearheading the demand for carving out a separate state consisting of seven districts of Uttar Pradesh and six of Madhya Pradesh. By comparison, the demand for Poorvanchal, consisting of Eastern UP, has been rather muted. The RLD leader claimed there was a general consensus that the reorganisation of UP was a pre-condition for good governance and development of all regions. But there is no good governance and development since people have to travel 500km to reach the high court, state secretariat and the office of the board of revenue.

I beg to differ from the view of Mr. Reddy, if we have to take into consideration what Mr. Reddy wants to say the the Government should setup as state for every District and what to be done for the National Capital at Delhi. Why do we forget that the very objective of the founder members of the Independent India was to make one united India and not to be divide it into many small subdivisions in the name of case, coulour, creed etc.

I am not in favors of dividing the states, as I think dividing a state is not the perfect get way of developing that state or area rather than Reinforcing the area to develop. The leaders are only shouting for their own reinforcement, i am commenting like this because I know what is there in their mind, as they are also human and they have the interest to go to the top.

Dividing the states are very subjective issue. Decision on state division shoud be case based. There are positive outcome of the division like Punjab, Haryana, HP, Uttrakhand, Gujarat etc. whereas at the same time there is negative outcome has also seen as in case of Jharkhand also.
In bigger state like UP it is utmost required to divide the state as it is not administratively possible to develop the state equally.Lucknow, the seat of power is 600-700 km away from areas like Sahranpur in west and Balia in east.

Different factions will now only politicize these movements and try to gain access to the political positions that will arise out of these new states. Politicians will only be interested in gaining important portfolios that will be created in the new state thus having new sources of income rather than the looking at the advantage or disadvantage of the new state. Personally I do not support forming new states just because one has to travel XX km to get the work done. I myself am from Maharashtra and do not support Vidharbha split because politicians can always improve or neglect an geographical area and if they really wanted to improve economic growth, they would have done it long time back.

Dear Sarath Sir! I care for your feelings but you are just supporting "divide and rule" policy of few politicians. We need better law and order, services etc. not new states. If you keep supporting such foolish ideas then the day is not far when each lane will have a session court, each road will have a high court and each city will have a supreme court.

Nothing wrong. People from all over MP need not travel to MP to get their work done, people from all over UP need not travel to Lucknow, people from all over WB need not travel to kolkata. When people in some part of the country want a separate state, it need not have consent of the people from other part of the state, centre can take a call!
It is on expected lines. Now people have got a simple way to get it. Just start fast till death.

Why!! Test cricket is the best form of cricket and that tests the real power of a player. We should not get lost in glamor and forget the roots should we??
BJP too is forcing him to resign but he is seeking legal options to stay in. No one wants him, everyone knows how corrupt he is still he is not willing to leave! what should this attitude be called? Do you think he will resign at will ?
