HI Friends,

I am sharing with you the reviews of 'Infosys Technologies', done by their employees, on work culture, growth prospects & salary.

Please share your views on this.

An employee wrote:

What I like about Infosys Technologies:
"Great campus. adds weight to your resume. the company tries to establish strong systems and processes. Smart colleagues who challenge you. Good place to start your career. But get some experience under the belt and then move to other places where more freedom is given to you."

What I don't like about Infosys Technologies:
"HR policies weak. In my experience, people were treated like cattle rather than people (though this experience can differ from department to department). Systems and processes are 'enforced' ruthlessly, with very direct language in internal memos including some nasty remarks like 'if you dont follow so and so rule, a certain deduction will appear in your next payroll'. My personal experience was that the company's HR systems were not geared up to handle personality clashes between people. The manager is given complete authority..."

HR policies of Infosys Technologies are full of money minded, for saving money they even snatch the life 0f many employee ,one latest example is of may-2009,for shifting of 43 software staff from Mysore (after training)to place of posting Poona,as per provisions Rs.5000/- per head is admissible ,within this cost they could have shifted by air flight, but shifted them by whole night bus, thus saving was of huge amount,It was known to them that heavy rainfall is there on the way and have to go via ghats, bus toppled down after it touched on turn to a divider,5 software engineer quite young were died rather butchered.I am well known of all facts because one of among five was son of my real sister in law.

I absolutely disagree you people have not worked with INFY. When compared to other companies INFY have good hr policies and they wont treat people like slaves. As Mr.Narayanamoorthy said "Employees are the asset of INFY". Its 100% true and i have felt that in INFY. As its a big company they also have some responsibilities they have meet that. INFY have a good HR policy that's why it's it has a name. If you've worked in INFY then you would come to know about it.

Well, i somehow disagree on the point made here. Technically a workplace is meant for work and somehow many employees at infy tend not to do so... u will find long chain mails running across DCs... now if that needs to be curbed, u need strong policies and systems in place. if people behave like cattle, it is only right to treat them that way i feel. u cannot go on being a good egg, u must either hatch or go bad!!

I dont think we should be expecting a rosy life wherever we go unless until you are a politician organizing some games or taking charge of the railways. Be it infosys or some MNCs, whats expected is to learn the art of getting things done and tackling ppl. as per the situation. No policy can be made standard to handle all the employees alike, because each of the employees themselves are unique. You got to handle each its own way and apply the general HR policies wherever required. The phrase that infosys employees are made to work like slaves is wrong. They are expected to work as their founders and carry on their legacy. Big players in the market demand big contributions from their employees every single day - thats a huge pressure that you need to cope up with if you are to remain in the market tomorrow.

people in general tend to behave like cattle, whether they are in infosys or not. It will be easy to work in a company like infosys, untouched by HR policies of any kind, if one can work or think like an entrepreneur or as an IITan since its founders are not local graduates presented with this company right after their convocation. they built it from scratch, somehow.

Some myth about Infosys is broken. Many indian companies follow similar HR practices but they are known to be harsh and unprofessional towards their employees. Incidentally I work with a multi-national - horrible HR. They differentiate, subtly, between Indian and non-Indians.

I feel that the HR is same in all the Indian comp's if you expect good HR polices target the non Indian co's however .. some of them also fall in the not so good category.... thats life :)

"what i don't like about infy " the comments by sanjay are the true strength of "INFY"
Infy was made by a group of people , one of the founders " Mr.gupta" ( who could not take the heat of a startup)left midway and is settled in US.
one of the other founders ( when they started the company- their first s/w project)sat on the computer for 32 hours at a stretch on the machine in a lungi and finalised the code.
if this is the attitude of the FOUNDERS of the company , same is expected from the EMPLOYEES.
core competence of INFY is CODE generation & not social welfare activities( which is what HR is )
This is all humbleness my opinion , I may be wrong ::

Thank you sir for sharing your views. It is unfortunate that the Indian corporates resort to such penny saving behaviours. I wish the organization takes this as a wake up call and rework their policies. keeping this in mind, we started this website of ours to make more and more people aware of the insider information in the corporate sector. Afterall nothing can replace human life. I am sorry for your loss and may God be with you, in this difficult phase.
