Hello!!

Friends

I was just wondering that after doing  any mistake in sales ,Are we rally feel guilty for that mistake ? Or just let it be  & say that is part of buiness.

Or we learn from that mistake & never try to repeat it again in near future. For this few days back I came across with this article which I want to share with you all.

Are You Guilty of These Common Sales Mistakes?

Every day thousands of salespeople annoy their customers and prospects with a variety of actions, behaviors and decisions. Are you guilty of any of the following? If you are you might want to re-evaluate your selling behavior. Why lose sales or customers needlessly when all that might be necessary are just a few minor changes in your selling style or communication methods.

Do you send emails instead of calling?

Do you act like the customer owes you the business?

Are you an effective communicator?

Do you take customer loyalty for granted?

Do you work as hard to keep the business as you did to get it in the first place?

Are you sometimes vague and non-committal?

Do you sometimes push just a little too hard for the sale or an answer?

Do you just “check in” when in reality you are hoping for a sale?

Are you a poor listener?

Do you respond quickly enough for requests for information, help or answers?

Do you get annoyed when you get a no when you were expecting a yes?

Do you invalidate your customers in any way – consciously or unconsciously?

Are you only concerned with selling something or helping them solve a problem?

Do you follow-up when you say you will?

Is your word your bond?

Do you make commitments you can’t honor?

Are you ever rude, arrogant or inattentive?

Do you treat their questions or concerns lightly?

Do you act like you understand something when you really don’t?

Are your sales skills up to par?

Do you pass the buck on problems or customer issues or complaints?

Do you support your support staff when they need your help on behalf of a customer?

Are you ever late for anything?

Do you need to improve your customer knowledge?

Do you ever make assumptions?

Do you waste your prospect’s or customer’s time?

Do you sell at the right level?

Do you tailor your sales message to the buying style of your prospect or customer?

The real question is are you doing anything to annoy your customers or prospects and therefore sabotaging your success?

Just tell me whether you will go with these questions when you have done any sales mistakes?

Nobody does it intentionally, even if it happens it can be rectified immediately by saying only one word SORRY.

agree with Mr. Aditya's comment here, one should reflect why it happened in the first place and then rectify it, just by saying sorry the problem will not be solved, then it would become a habit of saying sorry and doing nothing.

Selling is a perpetually learning experience, and one should learn from mistakes committed. Instead of just saying sorry, if one were to find ways and means to rectify, whatever the mistake, and reach an even keel, it would be better. But sometimes, like Mr. Mehernath says, during or on occurrence of a mistake, one might have any other option than to say sorry. But, later one should reflect on the mistakes and learn selling in a more affable & conducive manner.

I agree with Mr. Mehernath. SORRY is a word that the englishmen left nehind and it just works all the time!!
But coming to the crux of your question; Yes I have been guilty of some of the above. I did at ine time think I was a hot shot and 'I' am the ONE! Anyway, a loss of a good client or a good sales order gets you back to earth PRONTO! Thats where you realise that YOU are oh-so-responsible for the mess!!
Sorry also at times not cut it, but what needs to be done is NEVER to do any of the above at ALL!!

Good podt here!
