A first impression can be a hard thing to shake especially if it's a bad one. In other words, once you have gotten a workplace reputation as being lazy, a slacker, a whiner or other negative tag, it can be hard to get rid of.Think of someone you've worked with who perhaps didn't work as hard as you expected them to and then think about how you felt about every time you had to work with them.

Perception is often reality and once people get an idea in their head about someone or something, it can be difficult to get them to think differently. In my experience, your attitude in the workplace can sometimes define you more than the work you actually produce if your coworkers come to see you as someone who is reliable, competent, intelligent and someone that they can rely on.

One of the worst feelings can be to work with people who don't seem to care and don't appear to pull their own weight. When I think about people I've worked with who I've seen in a positive light, they tend to be people who outwardly display a positive attitude in the workplace.

They don't complain or bad mouth their company or coworkers and basically get on with the job at hand. They don't wander around bothering other people because they aren't doing their own job.

Basically, they are people who would be missed if they left the company.

Workplace attitude differs in private, public sectors

A comparison between the two sectors revealed a higher level of organisational politics in the public sector. The political skills of public sector employees were much more developed. Yet, significant differences in employees' emotional intelligence level were not found. The study shows that EI has a much greater impact on private sector employees' perceptions and attitudes compared to public sector employees.

In the private sector, however, employees with a higher level of emotional intelligence were less likely to use such tactics.

Mr Anand, like always a good article. Rightly said, first impression lasts and is difficult to shake off. One should be careful how they present themselves.

Certainty " formulization is like a Matinee . Are you a Numeralogist too, Sir ? 

In general , great Authority is usually  associated with applications of 

Mathematics in the sense that  whatever is mathematically determined must be 

correct. What is the source of this Authority , assuming that  no errors in the 

use of Mathematics occurred ? It is here that " What is true "  &  " What is 

valid " join together . Note that Validity  is concerned wirh logical consequences 

and Truth is concerned with correspondence with Reality !  This is the summary of 

the Authority of Applied Mathematics . 
                                       Your concluding  portion  has spoiled  the  

spirit of your effort in this Debate on Toostep platform . Asskissing does to one

Following your line of descriptions given , I will put it in right position of 

Applied Mathematics as follows for the sake of good debatership .

                 In the MODERN ALZEBRA , it has been called THE SET THEORY .

A Set is a well-defined collection of objects , say for example , qualities of 


professionals . Sets are denoted by capital letters such as A , B , C ,...P , Q , 

R ,... X , Y , Z . The Objects in a Set are denoted by small letters a, b , 

c ...p, q, r,... x , y , z ,... and are called the Members . The symbol ^ stands 

for the words " is a Member of ".If x is a Member of a Set U it is denoted by x ^ 

U. If y is not a Member of the Set U , it is denoted by  y ? U .

Any Set is represented  by the Roster Method which says all the Members  are 

listed within braces  e.g.  U = { Hardwork , Knowledge , Attitude } . 

Modern Algebra has recommended what is called THE UNIVERSAL SET. Otherwise called 

THE PARENT SET .

Every set is stated to be a Subset of the UNIVERSAL / PARENT SET . 

Also,the same Modern Algebra has recommended what it called THE EMPTY SET which 

has no Members at all .THE UNIVERSAL / PARENT SET  does accept THE EMPTY SET as 

its Complement.

                   The very mention of Asskissing is your  back talk .

Not all fingers are alike!  You need a combination of different sizes and shapes of fingers to perform an activity.  You can't expect all five of them be positive all the time in a group of five.  Each one has to adjust to various situations at work place, public place and home!  In a mundane world as we are in now, however, solid you may look from inside, situation that unfolds will turn you around!  Commentators with positive outlook cannot win a game - application is altogether different!

Yes, this plays a big role in your life may be in your own business or job, whatever you are doing.
There is a mathematical formula that may be able to help to answer this.
If  A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z  is  represented  as  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26. 
 Then 
H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K
8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98% and 
K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E
11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96% but
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E 
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
AND, look how far Ass kissing will take you. 
A-S-S-K-I-S-S-I-N-G 
1+19+19+11+9+19+19+9+14+7 = 118%
So, one can conclude with
Mathematical certainty, that While Hard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the  Ass Kissing that will put you over the top.
