Wipro chairman Mr. Azim prem ji's comment on reservation: Good one.. read on....*

* I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting

this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC

/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four

hit by an SC/ST/OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a SC/ST/OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An SC/ST/OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our SC/ST/OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an SC/ST/OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an SC/ST/OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80

meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country.. )

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country..)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...

Let's show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being an INDIAN..

May the good breed of politicians long live.. *

Honestly I feel politicians are ruining SC/ST people. They do not want these people to be educated. If you really count the attenders and chowkidars, I am sure you will find 90% of them belong to SC/STs. 60 years of reservation did not help them. I brought up an SC girl from the age of 2-3 months. She fared exceptionally well in all the exams scoring nearly 70-75% in each subject and finished graduation. She is employed well in a US based company. She is the first graduate in their family. And her brothers could not cross Plus 2. I understand many IAS and IPS positions reserved for SC/STs remain to be filled, since nobody is able to reach the level. I have a feeling that education upto degree level must be made free and compulsory for SC/STs than to extend reservations. Education is the only way to remove backwardness. Our politicians wish to keep them uneducated, fearing threat to their vote bank.

Across ages and sections of the society such bold statements are being heard by me first time in my life time. I am happy that the plight of the people who are struggling really , i.e., the middle class, is finally being heard. I have not seen any person who has benefited from the reservation system to whole heartedly pass on the reservation to others in other spheres of life as is the way it should be. This would eliminate poverty very fast

reservation could be based on ability; not on cast or religion. for example if some one is physically or mentally handicapped he/she could be given reservation to opportunities or should be given adequate training or resources in order to catch up with the active community. I think the cast system is obsolete to our current standards; Once these backward cast achieve the wealth status similar to non-backward ones then they are no longer a backward.

I agree with Mr. Sanjay Bhardwaj and do not think these are the words of Mr. Aziz Premji and hence in future if anyone is quoting any personalities please do quote where and in which forum he has mentioned these words.

I also agree with Mr. Satyanarayana Murthy. Infact, if each well to do (Upper Middle class) families offer to undertake the education, both expenses and moral support, of at least one SC/ST child, we would have a very good educated SC/ST community.

RESERVATION STILL REMAINS FRESH AND GREEN IN MY MIND EVEN TO-DAY AS ONE CANNOT FORGOT MANDAL COMMISSION BY THE THEN P.M V.P SINGH. ALL I CAN SAY IN THE NAME OF RESERVATION AS RIGHTLY SAID BY MR. HARI THAT POLITICIANS ARE RUINING ST/SC PEOPLE. INSTEAD OF RESERVATION WE CAN VERY WELL BRING SOME CHANGES IN CURRICULUM BY GIVING FREE EDUCATION FOR ALL UNMINDFUL OF WEATHER HE / SHE IS ST /SC.BY DOING SO ALL COMMUNITIES WELL GET THE BENEFIT. AZIZ 'S RESERVATION IF IMPLEMENTED IT WILL DO ALL OF GOOD FOR THE RUINING SOCIETY BY OUR POLITICIANS WHO ARE GOOD IN MAKING EMPTY PROMISES

It is a really bold speech by Mr. Premji....the reservations was needed in our system but at present scenario the ob/sc/st community are developed enough ..and doesn't require reservation.....it is eating the oppurtunities of other communities as reserved community is competent enough.!!!! our govt. should abolish the reservation system.

very true statement, we need to change first then plan to change government. reservation is needed but it should be based on economical condition not cast wise. some people not having sound background but they having flair of education, so we should support those human whether they belongs to any religion or cast.. so raise our hand to support humanity that really build our nation.

Fantastic people who support reservation must read and also understand where we are leading our country and why incompetency is ruling us ...
RESERVATIONS HAVE MORE DISADVANTAGES THAN ADVANTAGES FOR ANY SOCIETY

At first, I may say that the name of the person quoted as "AZIZ Premji" is wrong.

So far as reservations are concerned, the Government should make efforts to make the downtrodden sections more skillfull and competitive by providing effective educational and professional facilities rather than giving anything like a charity to any class.

In fact reservation systems are the root cause of disputes, struggles and even enhancement of criminal offences in the society, as that gives impression to a section of society as if they have been deprived of their share and given to someone else, even if they would not have been able to acquire that due to their ineligibility.

Secondly, the reservation policies of the politicians is merely a policy of divide and rule by creating rift between various sections by making divisions and to make secure their authority to rule over them, as they are normally afraid of the unity of the people to question their wrongs.

Thirdly, many sections of the societies start coming forward for reservations and disrupt the public life, as people would have experienced in the Gujjar movements for reservation in Rajasthan.

AND

Most importantly, the capable and talented people are not able to get their rightful placement, which is not called for in any democratic set of a society, like India.

SO FAR AS AZIM PREMJI IS CONCERNED, with due regard to his entrepreneurial capabilities and being a reputed corporator & industrialist, it cannot be forgotten that he is a corporator and industrialist and, except a very few daring industrialists, every corporation/industry tries to seek favour of the ruling party by making such type of supportive statements.

He has compared the rules of the games, like cricket with the rules of the employment, which is the nerve centre of sentiments and emotions of the people. He has not come out with any solid reason, why he prefers reservations.

It may not be forgotten, providing employment cannot be equated with playing a cricket game and similarly reservations in jobs can also not be made applicable in cricket teams. Suppose, if some ten SC/ST etc. are very good players and a non-player Muslim or OBC comes forward that he should be taken in to the team or the Other cast people insist that only 30 of such SC or ST players be taken in to the team and rest be disqualified, you can see what can happen with the matches that India would play with the international community. He should have at least come out logically with his statement. He has used the words, "I THINK", but this thinking must also have some very cogent reasons and should have been brought forward for the consideration of the Indian people.

In my views, reservations should be banned in any field, whether employment, education or games, or any other field. The Government should come forward with such policies to extend very effective educational and training facilities and other facilities to the SC/ST/OBC, etc. to make them more competitive in all fields, rather than making any section of the society incompetent and undue demanding.

In fact by such reservation policies, nothing much has been achieved in the improvement of the really deserving SC/ST/OBC classes, as most of them are still living in the same state of poverty and below standard life in the absence of effective educational policies of the Government for those categories. THE POSITION IS THAT ONLY THE AFFLUENT CLASS OF THOSE CLASSES ARE GETTING AFDVANTAGE OF THE RESERVATION POLICIES REPEATEDLY, AND NO BENEFIT IS NOT BEING PASSED TO THE REALLY DESERVING PEOPLE OF THOSE COMMUNITIES FOR WHICH THAT WAS THOUGHT BY THE CONSTITUTION FRAMERS.

I think SC/ST/OBC and other communities coming under the reservation category are ruining themselves by becoming puppets in the hands of Politicians. While education should be given for all when it comes to employment it should be based only on merit in every field. Why they are not demanding 100% SC/ST/OBC/Minority etc Schools run by them managed by them and for them, now that there are enough educated from among them.
Already this country has been spoiled. you can buy any degree in this country. If you are in power you can get doctorate and why reserved categories it is the upper cast slaves who give honorary doctorates for politicians. If you are giving doctorates for people who otherwise acheive some thing in life then there are plenty of people in this country who deserve doctorate. Why then for all of them doctorate is not given. Why capable person who can produce a thesis of quality much better than what is being produced by the present day PhD (May be not all of them)in less than six month are made to slog for 6 years to get PhD. It is not just reservation Policy most of our Policies are unproductive and are there to keep the poor poorer, Keep the person in power in power for life time, and provide unproductive opportunity to the poweful sections to make money.

Very true. Level playing field should be provided to every body but reservation system is spoiling the game. SC/ST can be provided the better coaching facilities but selection should be fair.
Don't know when our Politicians will understand the same.

Wow, I salute Mr. Azim Premji for his boldness. The reservations are already killing the Govt. organisations. Who the politicians are to implement reservations in Private organisations. Talent is nobody's own property. To provide some one an opportunity to study and an opportunity for employment, you cannot kill the opportunities of others. But this is happening in India in the name of social justice. Govts. has the right and duty to uplift the downtrodden but not the cost of some others. Even after 60 years of Independence successive Govts. are failing to find an alternative to reservations on caste basis.
