There is something different that we see everytime at our workplace on a regular basis, and there are many workplaces where we see people usually listening to music with their earphones on while they are doing their work, and many cases people will be pretending to listen music but then they will be secretly listening to the conversations of their co-workers that they are having, as I myself had personally experienced when one of my co-worker was doing this, and really felt very much annoyed by the whole incident, and when asked actually he confronted that he was doing it for many days like this, and he was obsessed to hear other people's conversations but pretending not to.

A serious case of weirdness from that person and now whenever I see someone listening to music over earphones it is really hard to believe whether they are really listening to music or secretly hearing the conversations.  Or else is it common that people do these things and try not to get caught while doing it? Why are people so much obsessed with other people's conversations, what can be the reason behind this? And which other manner people do all such antics at the workplace where they are spying on others. Do share your views or your similar kind of experience at your workplace. For me it was something new and thought of sharing it on the platform.

it needs to be ascertained that whether the headphone wire is connected to the earphone port of laptop or is it the one connected to the voice recorder which is placed at the place where conversations are happening ..

when music streaming is diverted to ears after slogging at work at periodic intervals , it increases efficiency & effeciveness...what matters is output and not whether an employee mixes music with work...or otherwise
First thing, such act should not be taken into granted. The people who are doing this in workplace should be warned.

That'd really be annoying. Not just at office, it is always better to watch our environment while passing a sensitive comment or on a discussion. Beware folks, I love music...so sad tat earfones are banned(only) at my workplace!!!! :0(

Use of earphones is not tolerated in workplaces in my country. Anyone caught doing this will be penalised.

There are many people who have the habit of listening other people controversies. They feel it as exciting thing to do. Many people do it to spy the activities of their competitors. Whatever it may be, these kind of activities are very dangerous as they steal the privacy of a person. The company should take proper remedies to check what every employee is hearing in his headphone...

OOps..! that is serious.. thank god, we don't do that here :)
It is the same attitude of some people to meddle into other people's personal life. Only thing, now it is supplemented with technology.
Best way is to identify and ignore such people

Strange people, I don't understand what people will get by listening to others conversations on the first place, until and unless if it is a girl or women, they might like to do the gossiping thing in the workplace which usually happens a lot, I mean no hard feelings, but it is true and everybody would agree on that. That was on a lighter note, but seriously this is not the way people should behave at workplace and sure people are weirdo's to do such things. And as Mr. Muralidharan has said why bother what others talk of you and do these things, just concentrate on your work, that will take you places than anything else.

Your work place is like a "sanctum sanctorum". When you walk into your office, your focus should be only on the assigned taks, not about who is listening and observing, etc. You are bound for the prescribed hours in a week, say, 48 hours, to your work place, and the people (workforce) around you can not intercede in your privacy by any means, unless you allow them to do so. Take charge of 120 hours, that is precisely yours and you have every liberty to utilise them as you want. Why worry about what others think or talk about you or overhear your conversation, etc. when your conscience is very clear about what you are upto and what you are doing? These pranks will get automatically exposed and separated if you dont react.

Too philosophical, isn't it! That's the way you should take your life - no one can dominate or undermine your effors, unless you allow them do so! Why keep worrying about others?
