Should Reebok India change its taglines from “I am what I am” and “Your Move” to something which fits the occasion like “I throw, so I am” or “Your Move. Your Change”…? Or they might go for something a bit on-your-face like “We make protests happen” and “Hitting your goal, every time!” Well…on second thought forget the last one!

A shoe that unseated 2 high profile candidates for the LS polls in India (something which we couldn’t achieve though out voting rights!) deserves a bit more respect. Did Reebok miss out on an opportunity to cash in on some god-given free publicity? Well, a certain Mr. Singh didn’t, as he proved that the pen might be stronger than the sword but it is certainly no match for the shoe, especially during press conferences!

What say?

hey nice caption there "hitting your goal every time" feel sorry for those politicians who are the receiving end, but i guess they deserve it and as Isha has said it has some what becoming trend,,if this continues then they can open a business of shoes collected from such incidents as most of them in the country are very dissapointed with these politicians who have done nothing great...

Yes pranab i saw in the newspapers a Elderly retired school teacher throwing his chappal towards jindal, but the person was punished, i guess they didn't want to see more shoes or chappals hurled at the politicians, and took necessary actions, so in future people will think before doing such acts...

But have you noticed something...there was another incident after the Jarnail Singh episode where a village headmaster threw his chappal at Jindal. He was promptly apprehended and charges slapped on him, while Singh was offered monetary rewards and even a party ticket! Has it been a 'branded shoe' and not a meagre 'chappla' he too hade been publicized and awarded? Is protest (irrespective of the way) the domain and whim of the urban rich?

Yes Pranab you are right here, its somewhat become a trend in recent days like throwing shoes at the politicians...and this is the angst shown by the public towards these politicians, who are just taking everything for granted and doing nothing. There was no justice in the sikh riot case where Mr. tytler was given a clean chit by the CBI and apart from that he was given ticket to contest polls and this made the public outrage and Mr. chidambaram was in the firing line of the shoe.. and shoes have more reach than pen i guess.....
