I couldnt agree with you more on the importance of a brand name and the power that it holds. But i diagree with your observations vis-a-vis Reliance and its success in every business that it is entering. IT is a fact that most of the business it is entering, it is being forced to exit faster be it the ADAG or the Mukesh Group. Examples are Relaince petroleum and the Reliance fresh stores. 

Having said that-it is certainly important to have a good brand name that is easily identifiable and powerful enough to generate good retention in a consumers mind. But the success or failure of a brand is not dependent only on the brand name.
