Can KPO offer you a Career?

Although I first saw "KPO" quite some time ago, I didn't really see a need to label Content Done Better that way. That's because knowledge process outsourcing is a big tent with several parties and the writing jamboree only takes up one small corner. It's also because I didn't really hear my customers using the expression, which made me think it was probably fairly marginal in terms of recognized jargon.

However, I have noticed "KPO" used with greater frequency. It seems to be a favored expression among Indian firms offering KPO services, in particular. In fact, when I do a quick Google for "KPO content writing" (no quotes), the majority of first page results link to Indian operations and one of them offers a long list of KPO providers dominated by Indian entries.

This shows that KPO is an upcoming career prospects in India. India is now one of the prefferd destination for KPO, as the figures says it is going to touch $17 billion mark by 2010.

There are many positive asscoiated with KPO, in terms of employee satisfaction, higher pay package, more civilised work enviroment and flexible working hours.With India economy growing at a such a fast pace there is huge shortage of talent pool in different areas and the answer to this lies in KPO.

Although it is difficult to attract experts from traditional fields, much depends on the package and incentives extended to such professionals. Further, information about the work environment and well-defined policies in the organization becomes a positive factor to induce such professionals to join the organization and contribute towards its growth. It would not be very wrong to state that KPO do offer an alternate and fruitful career path for our young minds.
