'Check are You an Engineer…?*

Engineer is a very powerful word. So an engineer must know the meaning of this powerful word.
* Word engineer appears to be derived from word engine=in+gine = इन अर्थात अन्दर जिन अर्थात विजेता, यानि जिसके अन्दर विजेता हो।
* By adding ‘er’ it becomes living noun. B.E. means Bachelor of Engineering अर्थात अन्दर की विजेता शक्ति को कार्य मे परिणीत करने वाला स्नातक। a man with most of the below listed qualities must be defined or designated as an engineer. Engineer means a man with:
+Ingenuousness = चतुराई
+Ingenuity = निपुणता
+Freedom = स्वतन्त्र, बन्धन रहित
+Ingenuous = कल्पना शक्ति युक्त
+Frank = स्पष्ट वक्ता, शुद्ध भाव युक्त
+Honorable = सम्माननीय, आदरणीय
+Free from deception = मिथ्या/ प्रपंच रहित
+Genius = प्रतिभाशाली
+Turn of mind = अपूर्व बुद्धि
* He will always be sincere, honest and can not be over ruled by any body else.
* So an engineer is always supposed to do the thing honestly and in right direction.
* A person designated as an engineer can verify himself whether he is an engineer or not?

Great post .... certainly morale boosting. I was wondering if i cud add a little bit of humor to this otherwise serious & meaningful post (excuse me for this). In my college this joke is pretty famous : Once an Engineer & a sweeper meet in a park. This is the conversation that takes place : Engr: Aaj mere paas degree hai, distinction hai, social status hai, bade logon ke saath uthna baithna hai. Tumhare paas kya hai ?? sweeper: Sahab mere paas job hai !!! & laughs .......

The term engineering itself has a much more recent etymology, deriving from the word engineer, which itself dates back to 1325, when an engine’er (literally, one who operates an engine) originally referred to “a constructor of military engines.”[5] In this context, now obsolete, an “engine” referred to a military machine, i. e., a mechanical contraption used in war (for example, a catapult). The word “engine” itself is of even older origin, ultimately deriving from the Latin ingenium (c. 1250), meaning “innate quality, especially mental power, hence a clever invention.

So, more appropriately ...... engineer = engine + er = One who drives an engine.
