Cisco's new flip tiny video camera, is getting Wi-Fi feature. The model has a large screen that slides to reveal the record and menu buttons underneath. There is no touchscreen. Videos can be uploaded taken over Wi-Fi. The iPod Nano and iPhone video availability is making things hard for Pure Digital by essentially stealing their entire market. This will definitely even things up, at least for the folks who already love their Flips. Expect great deals on non-WiFi models in the weeks to come. Cisco haven't yet ceded the ultra portable video camera throne to Apple's iPod Nano.  In fact, they have a Wifi update planned for the Flip line.  The new Flips will be able to upload videos to (assuming here) Youtube and Facebook type sites for immediate sharing with friends and family.  Still pictures should also be uploadable as well.

Cisco’s popular Flip camcorder has helped sparked a revolution in digital and online video. By making video recording quick and easy to record and upload, millions of random moments have been captured. However, the Flip is getting some major challengers. Kodak’s Zi8 video camera boasts impressive features and 1080p HD quality, but perhaps the bigger threat to Cisco’s camera is Apple: the iPhone 3GS can directly upload to YouTube (YouTube) and even theiPod Nano now boasts a video camera. Cisco’s fighting back with new features, though. The next-generation Flip MinoHD, due in the first half of 2010, includes double the memory, a larger screen, and direct Facebook uploads. Now according to Pocket Lint (and confirmed by Cisco), the Flip will, for the first time, include Wi-Fi. Another new feature that shouldn’t be overlooked is the new Flip will increase its screen real-estate by have a sliding screen that reveals the record and menu buttons.

MAHALAKSHMI SUBRAMANIUM thanks for referral. The latest development is that CISCO is planning to shut down its FLIP CAMERA DIVISION. For your kind information Its Co-founder and former Chief Executive of the start up that invented Flip Camera Mr.Jonathan Kaplan has expressed in the following text. "THE DEMISE OF FLIP HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW GREAT A PRODUCT IT IS . COMPANIES HAVE TO MAKE DECISIONS THAT SOMETIMES PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND ". ACCORDING TO ITS CHIEF EXECUTIVE MR. JOHN CHAMBER THE CLOSING DOWN OF FLIP DIVISION WAS A PART OF RESTRUCTURING PLAN OF ITS CUSTOMER BUSINESS.
